Hello all!

Just wanted to show off my Halloween costume!
Every year at work we all dress up for a few days for fun and one of my colleagues decided to go as Zod, so naturally i said id go as Superman. The issue was that i didn't want to just wear a rubies one but i thought it was decent enough to mod. So i ordered one and began working on the armor. I based it off both an action figure reference and as many online pics as i could get!
I started properly on Saturday and finished last night! Heres the pics!

The armor pieces are made from 5mm foam and the entire project was freehand with the exception of the S symbol which is my own take on the MOS one

Then the gold detail was just hot glue spread over the area before painting. The entire project took about 4 days and that was including restitching parts of the under suit to fit better! I think should i ever do this again a custom suit will be in order, at least then it will actually fit!

Thanks for looking
Steve

Thought i may as well show my WIP pictures! The photos were taken on an old iphone so their quality is questionable lol

The first thing i did was remove the boot covers from the rubies costume!

Then i used the fabric to cover a pair of slip on shoes.

Then i armored them up in foam pieces.

The rest of the boot was cut out freehand and stuck to the costume.

The torso piece was all assembled of a single frame. You can see it sitting across my chest, it was literally just a rectangle bar that i could pull down over my head then attach pieces in order.

I did adjust the size it eventually to bring the shoulder pads in a bit tighter.

The chest and neck piece's where cut and shaped, then glued to the frame. Each individual piece consisted of several smaller pieces on top for a layered effect.

Then i traced my shield out!

Test Fit!

At this point i felt it wasn't long enough. Mostly i didn't want my belly showing much haha, i certainly don't have Superman's physique.

So i added a small ab plate and started painting!

The inner details are just hot glue spread around, all time saving lol if i had more time i would probably have worked on something more but it will do!

Over all im very pleased with the final result!
