Superman crystal console

Hello, I'm pretty new to this forum so I thought I'd better start the ball rolling. I have always been a masive Superman fan since I was a little boy and as long as I could remember I have always wanted Superman's 'Kryptonian memory crystals.' Have bought a few from Ebay but was never completely happy with the quality so I bought myself a little belt sander and bought some acrylic rod and went to work, after a lot of sanding, shaping and pollishing I now had my very own Superman crystals. I soon realised I would need some sort of display so I trawled the internet looking for a suitable display, couldn't find one so I decided to build my own and since I was building my own why not make it as close to the real thing as possible. One or two things to do before it is finished, as I still have to build a frame for the inside so I can attach my LED lamp to make the console and crystals glow but I hope you like progress so far. The first crystal in the picture I bought from Hydin quite a few years ago from one of his first crytal runs, quite a heavy crystal and an absoluitly fantastic piece (thanks Hydin) The rest I made my self from acrylic.

I have waited long enough to finally have a good collection and spent so many hours making them I couldnt sell these. If I get more acrylic in the future and make more, I will give a heads up but I'm not planning to make any at the moment. Thanks for the kind comment.

Cool setup my man, mine is unfortunately still on hiatus (got the parts and diagrams, not the time to build though). Going for a similar look on mine but only going to have two upright holders at the back, the remaining crystals will recessed into the base...with the center slot being pressure/weight activated to change the lighting from bright white to white/soft green with crystal is entered...

Of course hydins Supes 2 crystal prop will be center stage...lol

Thank you very much, hopefully the green crystal isn't too far away, looking into getting one custom made. Thanks for your kind words, it's taken a lot of time and effort but I'm getting there.

Just a wee update, have nearly finished the inner frame of the console so I can get the colour chainging L.E.D lamp mounted and so the crystal tube platform can be placed on top. Really excited about finishing this one off. Will hopefully post pictures tommorow. Stay tuned.

Sorry but that was just a personal one off prodject, I'm not planning on making any more of these as it's taken me so much time and effort. With the amount of work and meterial prices that has gone into this it would be silly money, (I'm talking 1,000's, just for the work alone) then there would be shipping and insurance on top of that. I'm glad you like it but I just dont have the patiense to do another.
