Superior+Edge of Time+Amazing Spider-Man Costume Made From Scratch

I am honestly pretty disappointed in how it turned out. Especially the back spider. The front red part came out VERY WIDE. This just doesnt look good, but Im almost positive i can fix this. If stitching becomes too much for that, theres always trusty acrylic paint. Although that may hinder the elasticity, that maybe what i have to do on the red part so that the grey stretches more and consequently makes the red more narrow. What are your opinions? Ill do my best to fix it, because Im definately not trying again.

I like how it came out. But yeah, the front bit could be shaped a little different but that should be fixable. I think the back spider came out really well, actually. The only thing I think needs fixing is the front red part.

Im not happy with the solution I had to come to to fix the width of the red part, but acrylic paint was my only way out. Problem is, theres splatter damage and the muscle shading is atrocious. Spidermans two most emphasized features are his obliques and legs, and there goes that. D: I guess theres only so much shading you can do with black vs blue or something.

The mask, I feel, well, the web lines arent wide enough. Doesnt look much like a bug like I had hoped, so maybe i can fix that? Ehh. But i do like the T Jack lenses, as Im sure most people have seen all over the thread. I attached one with gorilla glue, and will attach the other one today.

The costume uses detachable gloves and boots, so I just had a loop for the sleeves and pants to stay down. I think I pulled off the claw effect pretty well, and hopefully I can decide on webshooters for this. I was just thinking simple comic book ones.

The back of the costume: The spider is WAYYY off. Just more for me to fix while I wait for me thicker neourethane sheet from amazon, because while trying to cut out the spider for my costume out of this polyurethane, the polyurethane sheet kinda fell apart while I was trying to cut a spider out of it. Does anyone know how I can cut a spider out of a sheet properly and direct me to exactly what kind of sheet I need to buy?

So, what do you think?

Dude if you pull this off I would be...superiorly amazed of all time! C what I did there? Haha, great job please post pics when u have some!

All I did was stitch up the fabric into a point. Like, On the fingers, it extends way past were my actual fingers would be and the triangular shapes come into almost a pyramid like structure. That results in the claw look and my fingers looking longer too.

Ive glued on the second lens, and continued on the mask. Im very mad with the costume itself, though. It just doesnt look right to me so far. Also, Ive ordered a thicker sheet or urethane for the front spider, and dont know if I should make the back spider out of urethane too. What do you all think?

Small Update: I decided that I was going to do a little lining on the red hexagons with black permanent pen, to get a shadow-3d effect going on like the ASM has. Also, I made my own muscle shading with spray paint and Indian Ink on one leg. The other is blank for comparison. It wont look as exaggerated once the black puff paint is applied.

Ive also planned out the web pattern for the gloves.

Alright, kiddies. My sheet of urethane came in today, and its wayyy better than the last one. Way to go. I kinda botched cutting the spider because Im so impatient. D; I really should take my time, but I was just excited.

Did the spider turn out ok? I also Tried to lay out the web lines, but they suck and arent symmetrical. D; Not straight down like theyre supposed to be. Im not feeling so good about this costume anymore, honestly. But its whatever. Here you go.

I think it looks really good! like this is exactly how peter's costumes would look seeing as he can't have them custom built!

Ive been puff painting like a boss, but this gorilla glue isnt keeping the urethane stuck to the fabric very well. Does anyone know what glue I should use to attach urethane to the suit? Also, I might pull some stitching magic to make the eyes closer together. Its really starting to look cleaner and have that professional look as well. only I notice the mistakes, naturally, so its not too big of a deal. Its a pain to get on, since my butt is too big for it to easily put on, but I had to make the waist small to accommodate my small waist. The U zipper doesnt help with the stretching matter, so stitching in places definately needs to be redone.

Ive done more work on the costume, and its not looking too bad. Schools just been hectic, 11th grade and all. I ended up going with the superior spiderman spider, except the legs are cut off so i have more mobility. I spray painted it red, sprayed it with gloss finish (wish i had a way to make it iridescent) and let it dry. After that, i wet the costume, but it had a cool side effect of being water repellant. hte water just beaded up because I used water proof ink for the muscle shading. But then after rubbing it in, the water took the in and spread out to the red. Hopefully its not too noticeable, but that bummed me out. I applied my gorilla glue, put the spider on the costume and had It pressed between a big book and 10 pounds for three days, It did the trick, and Ive started puff painting the back.

I also adjusted the costume, and made the lenses closer together.

That actually looks pretty good. Very close to the Edge of Time Spider suit!

Something about the lenses though. They don't look like they have the same curve as EoT Spiderman's

Just some photos of what I have so far.
