Super Mario Bros Movie Thwomp Stompers

My brother recently requested that I build these for him and luckily I had considered making these years back and had done tons of research and accumulated tons of reference photos. The original boots were based off a pair of Saloman SX41 Ski boots. I was able to get snag a pair off ebay for only $35.

Without further adieu here are some photos to the beginnings of my journey

I stripped down the boot and discarded the buckles and straps and dremmeled away the excess plastic

So funny how the movie wanted to try and explain how things could work in a more realistic way. So instead of the bros really able to jump high, they now need boots....which WERE designed really cool looking.
This is one of those terrible movies that I love because of just how bad it is.
Saw it years ago in the $5 Walmart bin and bought it immediately.

I am interest in making these myself - nice find on the boots how are they coming along?
