Summer project: Blade Runner 2049 binoculars

The two lenses, I have some ideas. For the little one on the front I am going to use the plastic "glass" from very very cheap sunglasses. Gonna buy these at SoLow. For the bigger one I might order some 2mm acrylic from AliExpress. Same goes for the red little rectangular things on the front.
My print came with templates for these to make the cutting a little easier.

I would've opted for a more modern looking screw design...but that's just my two cents;) As long as these make you happy, that's the main thing(y)(y)
I thought about using more modern screws like todays rangefinders. And I know some people have done this. But I didn't want to alter the original design too much so this was the next best thing. And these screws are still used in microscopes for example. Might touch them up a little with the Manila paint.

are you gonna try to cut the lenses out by hand from lexan? or polycarbonate? i tried using a dremel and made a mess of it , i might just try and use thinner clear plastic .

The lenses from the cheap sunglasses are very thin and easy to shape. I've used them before on my Hoth binoculars. I have a couple of free days coming up so I may get them soon.
Just gave me an idea for the front one, the resin one i printed was about 41mm so i got to thinking thats the same size as the glass on a watch case, ordered some on Amazon for like 7 bucks .

hey i got the 41mm watch case glass delivered and tried it out , it fits perfect if anyone else wants to try it . it was only $7.29 for 2 lenses , i cut the other from the guide with scissors out of thin clear 1mm plastic.

So I've been looking at the weathering of these binos done by several people. I really like what Mikeus has done with his. I would love to know what color he used for the bare metal. So if anyone can help in any way that would be appreciated.
Perhaps you know the guy or recognize the color.
