Sulaco1967 W.i.p First Build Competed

Looks amazing, for dreads I am using upholstery foam and when you put dread beads in them the move a lot and have very little weight. Hope tho helps

Well well then, this is fairly coming along since I last saw it, and all the more amazing because of the limited amount of time and budget. Shoulder canon and gauntlets and backpack were not fully assembled and unpainted,  and you didn't have the hands, feet or skins. Now you have most of the armour complete with sounds and lights and the starts of the skin.

Not everyone needs or wants screen accurate reproductions and a bit of improvisation is always welcome. Anyone can buy a ready made outfit if they have the cash, but to actually ponder over and execute their own design by kit bashing etc. must get more pleasure out of showing off their creations.

You must be seeing the light at the end of the tunnell now, as I know you have your mask and bio. Tricky times ahead with the painting but I'm sure that will work out fine, just take your time.

Thanks Stephen it has been a Nightmare at times and very tedious doing certain parts . Has caused a bit of friction now and again with my partner due to me obsessing. However I am loving creating something from nothing and loving the kudos from friends and family.

Yeah once the skin is finished it' more or less painting, not looking forward to it however will take my time and learn from my mistakes.

Cheers

lol..Thanks Steve..have done a house cleansing today..feel good...Going to write a too do list everday including Pred stuff.. thanks for the kick,..I need it..

That sounds great...it does feel good, a good house cleaning always got me motivated to do more...or at least cleaning my work bench. HA!

Steve

Glad to see ya posting again my friend!  If you're anything like me, the holidays can take attention away from other "priorities" lol.  I think I've got some good momentum going now, and have figured out the hardest (for me) part of my build... the shin/calf armor.  I think that's what was really holding me back.  Now that I almost have one complete, the second one will be a breeze, then a day or two of painting, and I'll have a complete predator costume.  The light at the end of the tunnel has become really big.  Keep hanging around buddy, you'll get it back in no time!

Brian

P.S.  I plan on taking allot of pics during my last paint session, and do a little "step by step" of the progress.  Hope it helps!   :D

Thanks Steve and Brian for your comments. I really need to crack on with latexing the suit, I know once I start that will get the ball roling. Brian really really looking forward to your paint pics.

cheers

Looking forward to how the latexing of the suit progresses. Keep us informed with lots of pics.

Hi Steve... well finally got the first layer of latex on...YAY..found my mo jo again..lol. I applied the layer using a good quality bristle brush to avoid of the bristles falling out and washed it in warm water every 5 or so minutes to get rid of latex residue. My partner Ruth got me an HVLP spray gun for xmas and I plan to use this for subsequent layers. I have put on the radiator on too max in the room so it should be cured by tommorow. Next plan is to start carving the foam muscles which I will attach before any more layers of latex are put on. All good fun and thanks again for the kick up the backside Steve..lol. Did not think it was wortwhile postibg any pics as if yet...not much to show

cheers

Great news Sean!  There really isn't much to it, is there?  Glad your going on this again, keep it up!

Spray adhesive Steve.

I have got my local upholstery business on the pred vibe and they have gave me all their offcuts that were going to the local dump. I bought some of their adhesive which they reccomended after explaning about what I required it for. Looking forward to the muscle work, I find the latexing very tedious...

cheers

Sean

I am curious too how you like the HVLP sprayer as well...keep that in mind and let me know when you've used it.

Steve

I think your gonna figure out it's not that bad, just have some confidence on yourself. Your feet turned out good bud, give yourself some credit!
