Sucker Punch: The worst movie I've seen in the last five years!

Wow, there was a LOT of butthurt in that video. Funny how this person can see all of that in 300. I see a whole mess of projection from that guy. Eeeesh.

I'm a minority and did not see it. Hell, the Spartans took part in homosexual acts as well. Some of it was just...grasping at straws.

Did he make the Persian empire look evil and wicked? Well, yes...and that was the point. At that point in history, the Persians DID try and take over the world.

I too just rented SuckerPunch from Redbox last night.

I wouldn't go so far as to say it was a complete crapshoot, but wow, what a depressing film.

Poor babydoll. :(

I have to see it because the asylum is in my beloved hometown of Brattleboro, VT (where there is actually a world class mental health facility that's NOTHING like the one portrayed in the film...)

StevenRogers, Avatar was a fantastic ,epic movie, don't put it in the same boat as Sucker Punch. Not even close! I also hated Sucker Punch.. Glad I rented it and didn't pay the 10 bucks to see it in the theater.

In my opinion the only saving grace that Avatar had was it was pretty......that's it. Horrible storyline more fit for a videogame than a movie.
I can't wrap my head around how people like that film it's a cartoon. It doesn't even take itself seriously. I swear on my fathers grave that movie will never be seen by me again. Crap. It is a stinker. It made my eyes turn cancerous and now I am blind.

Seriously Everyone.

I don't like the Transformers movies either so I guess what I am saying PRETTY in my eyes does not equal a good movie.

I didn't mean for that to be a stab at you or anyone else, as far as intelligence. I just think there is more than one way it could be perceived.

I mean we could go on through a thousand posts, and get nowhere on how many people hated the movie ( and how it tanked at the box office ). I realize I'm one of the select few who enjoyed the movie. But, to say it's the worst film in the past five years, is a far stretch. Even if you didn't like it, you have to admit, it was different.

As far as the whole " showing of skin factor ", look at "300" ( which I enjoyed ) under the supervision of Frank Miller. The Spartans were running around in next to nothing! It may be more correct to the time period, but how is that any different? I mean its obvious that alot of female fans where not bothered by this, and noticed that it showed women who could be independent, and kick butt. So I don't understand why the feminist would get all pissed off.

There are way too many remake's, sequel's, and trilogies being made. We need fresh ideas. There are tons of great books and stories out there, that could benefit from a good movie.

Oh, yeah -- maybe that was it. The movie was just too darn smart for me.

I lump Sucker Punch in with Inception in that it's a movie that seemed interesting, started strong and then took a pointless left turn, threw out the plot and simply ended. There's no story flow and all the mental energy spent on trying to follow what was going on in the first half is wasted by the second half.

I liked it. Didn't love it, didn't hate it. It was okay.

Visually I thought it was fantastic. Story was a little disturbing but okay.

I liked the fight scenes, and the costumes. Good stuff.

Don't try feeding me that "Thinking Man's" movie line of crap either because the plot devices you thought made it a "Thinking Man's" movie could not have been handled in a more predictable, ham-fisted manner.

That is, of course, assuming that the "plot devices" were the element that made the man think. I wouldn't be so bold as to presume what level of interpretation someone has over something. Just as I would never call you or anyone else and idiot for not enjoying it, a little shared respect for those that found it intellectually stimulating would not go unappreciated.

Disagree as I might with anything being called a "thinking man's movie", I think Suckerpunch certainly has a lot to think about, and rewards consideration and supports multiple, varying interpretations. If that makes me an idiot in your eyes, so be it, it would be disingenuous for me to say otherwise about it -- regardless of what the predominant opinion is.

Me and the Mrs. couldn't get through Sucker Punch. The girls are great eye candy but that wears thin rather quickly. When my little woman started to play with her flip flops, I knew it was time to try another film.

I was so looking forward to "Man Of Steel". Now, I'm just frightened.

Actually, if they were really accurate to Spartan culture, there would've been a whole HELL of a lot more nudity since Spartans actually fought naked... would've been awesome, in my opinion, but a lot of guys aren't okay with that much schlong in their films so I can see why they didn't go that route.

I didn't love Sucker Punch, didn't hate it. I thought it was very pretty and I enjoyed the eye candy. I liked the idea of these fantastic scenes being portrayed by Babydoll's dancing, but outside of that, the story was an absolute mess.

I couldn't get past the look of it.
It's like a group of 15 year old boys did the art direction/costume design.
"Man! Know what would be awesome? If the main charecter is wearing a sexy school girl outfit while she kicks butt. Oh dude! we have to have one of them in assless pants, or no pants at all!"

Well,I've said this when the film first came out, "Don't be a sucker" and see "Sucker Punch".Do people listen to me? No.Although it was visiually appealing Sucker Punch was weak on story telling, the script and the dialog was lame at best.I've found whenever I stated the obvious, a bunch of Anime fans would become greatly offened but were incapable of specifically rebuting and stating why "Sucker Punch" was a masterpiece of film making. All it really had to offer was a techno soundtrack, some decent art design and girls who dress up like strippers and porn stars.End of film. However, Sucker Punch IS NOT the worst film in 5 years. If any of you were brave enough to endure "Skyline", you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. That film is a whole new discussion of sci-fi story telling and film in general that blows harder than a leaf blower.

My problem is the same one as Mr. Wright's. That it claims to be about feminist empowerment, but it really is just a thinly vieled attempt to put girls in skimpy outfits and act hot. Im just put off by the hypocracy of the concept.
I guess I just am put off by any message that tells women that the only way they can become empowered is through using thier sexuality (a message coming from a man no less), essentially objectifying themselves. Seems to be the direct opposite of feminism.

I never had any real interest in "Sucker Punch".

1. The title is too close to that fake movie "Face punch" in the already in itself cheesy "Twilight" film.

2. From the trailer I could tell it would be nothing more than t & a and explosions. Well, I'll admit, the women and the costumes in the film aren't hard on the eyes, that kind of stuff doesn't make me pay to see a film. It makes me realise it's just going to be a shallow film with a bunch of crap thrown into it to get people to see it because of "Oooo boobies!!"
