Subscriptions not working...

Hi,

Have had problems with this before the major update. Notifies are just not coming in. I can't keep up as I want to on RPF. I need my notifies!!!

Please help?

I have 8 listed subscriptions all marked as instant notification. Nothing happens.

:cry

Cheers.

What email provider/ISP are you using?

You mean, it could be them blocking the sender again? And they don't bother to forward it to my spambox, but just set your domain as spam?

I'm using xs4all.nl

Cheers!

Sorry for the late reply, didn't get my notify. :rolleyes

That is a possibility, I would contact them to see.

Do either of you have your profile set to get emails when PMs arrive? If so, do the emails arrive as intended?

Testing.

UPDATE: I recieved a notification of a response to a subscribed thread so it is working. What I found is that there is a setting in User CO > User Options called "Default Thread Subscription Mode" that defaults to "No Email Notification" but can be changed to several options including immediate and daily emails. Check that and see if it set the way you want it.

In the User CP you can also check your existing subscriptions and change the notification methods if you like.

Yes, everything is set correctly. It just stopped working one day. About two weeks ago or so.

Not only that, but I don't receive email notices when I get a pm either.
I never changed anything in my settings between the time that everything was working fine to now.
Something with the forum software/settings is screwed up 100% for sure.

I'm using safari as a browser if that helps. I don't use any other browser either.

I'm not confident that it's 100% software/settings. If it was just that then no one would be able to recieve the subscriptions emails yet I have a mailbox full of them now... And the idea that you don't recieve PM notices either, which I also recieve as do many other members, also suggests it not just the system settings.

MLTech, would it be possible to get the nameserver that originates the therpf.com email notifications so that GINO can check with his provider to see if it could be trimming them as spam? Is it just @therpf.com?

GINO, do you have a personal spam filter for your account that you can check a box for or does the provider use a mass filtering tool?

As for me, I am going to see if I can find a setting that can change the content of the email so maybe we can reset any spam filters that might be filtering. If I can't do that or if that doesn't solve it we'll have to try something else.

Like I said in my PM, I never changed anything with my settings. It just all of a sudden stopped working a few weeks ago. I'm frequent about 6 or so other forums and ALL of them work fine without missing a beat.
I'm on a Mac and use safari. I don't know why it works for some people and not others.
It worked perfectly fine for me for the longest time and one day, poof. I've never adjusted or changed anything.
I'm telling you, it has something to do with the rpf.

GINO, I just heard from another user that was having notification issues. They changed from their roadrunner account to a gmail account and the notifications started working.

Again, that points to something on the receiving side which could easily be an origin/content spam filter. I understand that you are 100% certain that it's on our side, but evidence is not pointing that way so I would suggest you still try either checking with your provider to see if we are blocked or changing to an alternate email just to see if they get through...

I will continue checking on this side in the mean time.
