Sturdy Removeable Paint?

I am looking to do some camouflaging of a synthetic rifle stock, and a little on the barrel. If possible, I need the paint to be removeable. They used to make a paint called "Bow Flage" which was removeable but the company website no longer lists it.

Any suggestions for a paint that will stand up to being handled (not too roughly) and being outdoors, yet can be removed when needed? THANKS for any info.

I've used both cammo tape as described, and non-residue gaffers tape in colors. I think I could get closer to exactly the pattern I want with paint.

Is acrylic fairly durable. When dried, will it hold up to fog or rain, and do you need a solvent to remove it? The local hobby stores have the jars of Tamiya Acrylics for sale.

THANKS for the info.

I use ceramcoat, and apple barrel brand paint, and it is durable enough, but not impervious to wear, and tear! You might want to spray your project after the base colour with Dutch boy brand satin clearcoat,as it doesn't have the tendency to have this paint stick to it,if you make a mistake. This clearcoat lets you remove the water based acrylic on top of it with water while wet,if you're doing weathering techniques. The acrylic brand paint doesn't come off too easy once dried, especially if it's thick, but can be removed with mineral spirits if need be without fear of destroying the resin underneath! It's fairly cheap if you buy it a wally world(wal-mart),or Micheals outlet stores. I highly recommend it,if this is what you're looking for! If you're looking to paint a real rifle-this will stand up to rain, and fog,but it will wear away after repeated use! You might want to paint it with Krylon flat clearcoat acrylic, also available at wally world if you want a more permanent paint film. I don't know if you want a paint that can be removed after a while,if you change your mind, then just paint it with the apple barrel brand paint without a clearcoat over it!
