Studio scale Godzilla bust.

It took a few months but Ronculus has finally finished a replica 1954 studio scale Godzilla bust. I finally had an opportunity to see this in person and it is HUGE. Much bigger than any other bust in my collection. I don't know how many Godzilla fans there are on the board but I thought it would be nice to share some pics:

Now all he has to do is get started on a studio scale King Ghidora ... :)

wow, that looks great, do you have anything to put next to him to show his scale?

I can see a few of them now, Theyre on his back. Are you blind??? :D :D :D

They got the color wrong. He should be green.

I keed. I keed.

Looks nice. Wasn't this one referred to as demon gozi?

Thanks Simmon.
Simmon asked me to make this last year and got me re-hooked on Godzilla.
Now I have just about every Godzilla movie.
This is the first Godzilla piece I've made, but definitely not the last.
You think Gojira is huge? Wait till you see King Ghidora. Now that will be huge.
I should have King Ghidora available in the Summer sometime. I'll keep you posted.

Hello everyone, thanks for your interest and the kind words. If you're interested in this piece please pm me for info.
Height is approximately 21.5", width 19", front to back fin about 24.75".

Regards,

Ron

I think the 54 suit was referred to as the Shodaigoji - atleast from what I recall. It's been so long since I've read up on the big G and I can't find any of my G-Fan's. Does anyone know if that magazine is still even in publication?

That is a beautiful bust. You've captured the look of the '54 Godzilla perfectly.

G-Fan's still around, I think it's only a quarterly magazine now. My subscription ran out awhile ago, and I never got around to renewing it, but their website is still up and kicking http://g-fan.com/. I think the Godzilla most often referred to as Demon, or Oni Godzilla was the one from GMK, with the all white eyes.

Excellent work Ron...

Right color; ears in proportion; eyes particular to this (and the 2nd film).

When I met 2 of the men who played Godzilla (G-Con 95) he said that this first suit was made from tire rubber and he could only last 15-30 seconds at a time before passing out.

My favorite is "Mosu-Goji" (1964) and "Bio-Goji" (1989).

If I had the room, I'd get one.

BTW: at a convention in 1995 (north of Malibu) there was a King Ghidorah head. All beat up and the foam was falling off it, but recognizable. About 2 feet long and 2 inches thick.

Great work...

Thanks Guys, I appreciate the kind words.
:D

That's awesome you got to see the originalGhidora head up close and talk to the original actors.

I love the classic designs but I also love the newer versions of Godzilla in Final Wars, 2000, etc.

Best regards,

Ron

I snapped a quick pic of Ron's Godzilla with Howard's Freddy Kreuger bust (which is 1:1 scale) just for size comparison.

Impressive.

And since we're talking Godzilla suits - I love all the suits from the Heisei era. I especially love the G suit used in Godzilla vs. Destroyah as well as the Heisei revamp of King Ghidora.
