Welli, she's sat for an age, so i thought id better man up, and start this off, cheers Guy lol..
The engines i built a while back, but, i knew i had to get to scribing the hull at some point.....and me, scribing, id rather spend the day with my Dentist for some cheerful root canal :lol
Dont look to close, my scribing.....isnt great lol.

Ill finish up the bomb tube tomorrow, and get the rest of the kit parts properly trimmed for fitting, and, i have to bond up my newly cut speeder canopy (thanks Nick :lol) as i want that darn thing to come along now.

Thanks again to Stu for these great parts, and thanks for looking guys, more to come Saturday!

You could've started a week ago mate, how am I supposed to follow you if you start after me. Hurry up so I can see how its meant to be done :cool

Looking very sharp

I try Jason :lol. Scribing was done, using a triangular alloy rule, and a strip of styrene to bend round, other than a Tamiya scriber, its all pretty caveman buddy....well, least i didnt break out the hammer huh.
Still need to clean up some of my lines, but its not the worst scribing ive done.....but ill never get this art dialled lol.

Guy, are you kidding? Im betting you may know more on this than me right now.....yours is looking very sharp.

Oh, and my plans were, NOT to paint this prop, wanted a donor show off, NAHHHH, cant do it, keep looking at the ref, and the other builds here, its too sexy with a coat of paint.....and then i have that debacle on how to keep styrene from yellowing over the years.

Lee, looks great man!. I don't know what yer worried about with your scribing, looks darn good to me!.

I used a purpose made scriber from MicroMark!. It has double ends for different depths & widths I guess for all types of scibing jobs. I think it even came with a sharpening stone as well. Of course I got this years ago so might not be available now?.

It's great to see you on this build mate, you'll probably start a flood of builds now between yourself & Guy.

Lee, I saw this thread and just knew it would look great, so had a look and in fact it does look great....you're pulling our legs when you say your scribings not good, looks pretty tremendous to me.. :love

Brilliant as ever fella !

Thanks guys, puts my mind at ease some, i really need practice at this art, i tend to rush the "score" is all. I did shoot a light primer coat on the cockpit tube after the parts were applied, and ive one tiny area to smudge with filler, just where i over ran........so overall, not too bad.

Oh meant to say, Phil, sent out your ATAT decals and lower helmet trim today.

OK you TIE bomber guru's, need some advice, the Harrier ejectors, are they bonded to the hull direct, or, do they have some form of styrene "backplate"?
Im looking at the prop, and it seems thicker than my parts, with rivet detailing on the edge......or, am i going completely mad?

lee

HAH, Guy, thanks man, thought i saw a little more meat in there lol.

Well, just got the Stuka parts added, and marked out the bomb tube for next weekends fun and games. Id like to at least get the hull 90% complete this side of Christmas, as i really need to get back to the speeder, and the cloud car....and the other stuff mocking me in the corner :lol

lee

Cheers Julien, ill get to that ASAP, one the scribing is done, its really quite a fun little model, mind you, those darn Vintage Leo's are a pain, soooo warped, and, i need'nt have used them now im painting her :$

lee

Ah, no need bud, i did look for the red Vinyl for your stripes and markings, but i cant lay my hand on the tube its stored in.....up and vanished.

The rubber trim, fits great, not sure how accurate it is, its the Fenix stuff, but goes on well and is very plyable, you'll just have to paint it white liek the prop lid for that super accurate look.

Jon, the transport is still a WIP, ill get back to her soon. Few things on the go and time is short with a 10 month old running amok lol.

Eric, as always, means a lot from a man of your talent, cant wait to see your next Bomber.

Bests.....lee
