Hi Keith,

Your pics look great and cannot wait to see the paint jobs which is your speciality.

Only 7 helmets shame on you :lol

What parts of the cap damage did you have to repair? I have old TE bumpys and newer bumpys as well. The stand out difference appears to be the area above the brow trim on the left hand side and the back of the cap top left hand side appear to have had mould damage (left hand side when wearing the lid).

What did you fill the plastic with? I am considering repairing the two I have that are different from the earlier TEs so any tips would be helpful. I cannot see any filling at all - so I suppose that means you done a great job :) I take it you repaired inside and outside of the helmet?

I look forward to updates on these buckets

Cheers Chris

Chris,

The damage is only on the new TE2 helmets.

My Brian R and ESB replicas have old TE1 bumpy caps made years ago, so there was no damage on those.

The TE2 kit i have (the Dave M replica) had some damage to the front above the brow trim and at the back on the left as you said. I just used a small amount of car body filler on the outside to fill the damage.

Thanks,

Keith.

Hi Keith,

Thanks for the info mate :thumbsup

Car filler it is then.

Another quick question is the TE2 you are talking about straight from MG or from the guy who bought his moulds?

I get confused sometimes as there have been so many TE helmet incarnations.

Did you ever get one of his 'set for stun' fibreglass helmets they are really stunning when in hand.

Cheers Chris

Chris, I got the TE2 from Tony, the guy who bought the molds.

I don't have one of those set for stun helmets. Fiberglass trooper helmets are not really my thing. They do look nice when finished, but its not for me.

Keith.
