stormtrooper helmet questions

File your dispute with paypal . Tell them the item is not as described damaged etc etc...whatever wasn't in his description. Don't take this laying down

As I said I would be surprised if you lost a PayPal claim but understand why you may feel daunted. Just make sure you set out everything clearly and list any inaccuracies and omissions in his listing. Do a list before you file your claim and if you need get someone, like your parents, to check it through with you.

Re-reading your posts I think you've already bought some things but when it comes to future builds if you need supplies TK-4510 is very useful, good quality and cheap too.

Don't buy from recasters if you want to make sure new cool stuff is brought to the hobby, regardless of how cheap it seems to you. You are clearly not considering the consequences.

If you want good quality, cheap stuff, go with AP - you can get one of his seconds for less than the regular kits.

Support the original providers.

I second this, I have an AP suit and its bad ass -- his B pulls are really nice as well if you don't want to troop in them all the time.

thanks everyone, how do you file a claim with paypay? i asked my parents but they think its hopeless so their no help. heres a copy of the exact description that was on the listing:

"Up for auction is one Assembled Stormtrooper helmet. This was once a prop kit and was finished with screws etc so it is adjustable to your head size. It needs a little bit of bondo work in the back and a new paintjob as I applied stickers for the small details and should of painted them on. It doesnt look bad but I had intended to repaint it. This is the ANH version which is Symetrical in shape. The mic tips are unattached and anodized machined aluminum. They were left off inorder to install a electronic voice box."

he clearly states that all it needs is some bondo and a paint job but obviously needs ALLOT more than that. also he says its adjustable? he also says that it "it dosent look bad" which it clearly does.

It seems you have not the money to buy a complete Trooper armor until after college - so you don´t go for trooping with it, i assume?
Why spend money for padding for a oversized bucket? If you didn´t get your money back ........ build it as good as possible, and put it for display on a shelf. Even the size makes no real difference then.

If you want to wear it in your livingroom ........ noone will care if it´s accurate or cracked up, trust me. But maybe they gonna take care that you have to wear another white-suit then, if they see you doing it. :love

As long as you don´t want to troop with it, it´s no big problem to use it as a display piece. Most people will reckognize it as a "helmet from the bad guys from that SF-movie, isn´t it?"

But first - go the route to complain with paypal, to get your money back.

its true i dont have the movey for the whole suit now, but even if i do just have the helmet id still like it to be wearable because i dont see the point in having a helmet that cant be worn, even if its just sitting on a shelf. i also didnt know it was oversized. i only have the helmet of my halo armor done so far but i still wore it to dragoncon and ill be wearing it again at comiccon atlanta tomorow. plus its still fun to just go out and do stupid things with it, like driving with some friends through the drive through at mcdonalds whith it on and just watching peoples reactions :lol

You were told what this helmet was before you bought it, FX or FX recast is the biggest version available, about 10% bigger than a screen accurate version. What you have is so bad , definately a bad idea to spend any more money on. We have all bought rubbish thinking we were saving a bit of money, please listen to advice better next time.

i actualy bought it before i knew what it was. like i said im no trooper expert, but i guess it was pretty stupid to get it before knowing exactly what it was. when i saw it, it only had 20 minuets left and the pictures looked ok so i guess i just got cought up in the moment and didnt think it through :unsure

If you are just looking for a decent sort of accurate helmet I would just get one of the EFX helmets. They are completely finished and and ready to wear or display. They are not 100% accurate and certainly would not satisfy the hard core Trooper fan who knows those helmets inside and out but the one you got there is a ways off so I do not think this one would bother you. They are going for $124.00 brand new on ebay (only $20.00 more than you paid for the one you got, so it should be doable). Just search for eFX STORMTROOPER HELMET Great starter helmet and you could save up and move on to one of the accurate custom made ones when you are ready. It is a great way to get a super nice helmet in your price range and not support some recasting loser :angry

just opened a case in the resolution center on ebay, hopefully ill win it and get a refund
Do the same on Paypal. eBay takes a huge cut of the refund if they award it to you. Paypal gives you the full paid amount (either with the shipping cost included or excluded depending on what seller decides). You can also be forced to send the item back either at your expense or on sellers before you can get a refund.

Their help section will guide you to file a claim - just file it, don't escalate it immediately or you take away sellers option of refunding you directly and means that someone at Paypal has to evaluate the sale and that can take up to a month.

If that was the descrption in the auction then id say it was described clearly. It does need bondo work and a new paint job. It will never be a MR or anything but its what you paid for. Causing someone else a problem for your mistake seems wrong to me. IMO

I dont think the seller you bought it from is a recaster and trying to label them as such is wrong. i was watching that helmet myself because of how cheap it was I could clearly see all the work it needed so I dont know how you could not have. Misunderstanding a descrption is your fault not the sellers.

today the seller offered a 25% refund so i decided to just take that and not risk escalating it any further and risking not getting anything for it :unsure
