I decided to turn up the heat with this build. I was under the lens.

Please watch the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBblNhD0Zjk

Here are a couple pictures. Please watch the video where I construct it.

Re: Blaster Build in Time-Lapse

That was a great video, Evan!:lol

The blaster turned out really well, and it looks like this is far from the first time you've built one. Congrats on another fine build!

Thanks guys.

The handle was a real grip fitted with wood cut at my parent's. I took video of it, but didn't add it in.

It took some 16 hours with glue and drying time. I used fast drying epoxy, super glue, and Krylon to speed up the process. I used JB Weld putty rolled thin to re-inforce the other glues and create the look of a weld line. The vice and zip ties allowed me to keep working even as things dried.

I did skip one part. I cut out a front sight from Lexan, but then lost it. I never added it in because I was hoping I'd find it again and I didn't think it was noticeable. Though I know you're just kidding ToothTech. I'll probably just cut another one this weekend. Cutting and sanding lexan for a part that small just takes a minute. I think the lexan trigger took me all of 30 seconds.

The sight wasn't the only part I lost. I also lost the first U-channel I cut for the stock release mechanism and did it again. Small parts are hard to keep track of. Especially if they happen to resemble scrap.

I recently made one (in one sixth scale) from a mechanical pencil. The online instructions are awesome.

I wish you made an actual tutorial for each part. I have parts for 4 PVC blasters that I have no clue how to finish and assemble. I have to make the scope rails, trigger guards, and the shoulder stocks from scratch and I am clueless.

Yeno...

That time lapse thing makes me think the closing theme from the Benny Hill show would've fit just as well as the cantina band... :lol

The scope rail and trigger guard were made from aluminum that was a length of 1/8" bar stock. Pretty much just cut to size and bend. The shoulder stock is from galvanized sheet metal. Aluminum bends quite easily. Galvanized sheet metal is so easy to bend, its downright flimsy. It wouldn't be strong enough to put against your shoulder. It opened until I screwed a hole in the rod I used and permanently attached it to the barrel bottom. i was too lazy to work out a release mechanism for how to connect it to the barrel. I would have used aluminum sheet for it, if I had found it. There is a Welders supply near here that has quite a lot of metal, but I just bought what they had at Lowes and Ace.

I used the templates at the Blaster Builders Club Forums for everything.

The rod I used for the shoulder stock was one of those crummy 4x10 scopes I bought for the scope rings. I just removed the adjustment knobs and bell. It isn't part of the templates, but there is a rod on the real stock.

Just a quick question. What was the total cost (with part and such Nots)?

I'm not sure. I had several blasters in progress already, but wanted to start one from scratch for the purpose of the video.

I had some of the stuff already, like the conversion parts and the sheet metal. I have a mold for a Hengstler. I also had a cast scope and one of the metal clip cylinders greeblies. The barrel vent gripping was from Blast-tech. I spent a lot more than I might have had to because my old Dremel was crapping out. I made more than one trip to the hardware store too to get supplies I didn't know I needed until I actually needed them.
