Stormtrooper armor

Hey I'm looking into getting my first set of stormtrooper Armor and i was looking at this on ebay: *removed link* its a set by vacuum_dis! He reffers to it as VT armor and right now its going for $499 US with $20 shipping

Was just wondering if thats a good buy, if youre familiar with that particular mold and have any comments. I'm not too picky with the helmets, I dont mind a symmetrical one. I just want somthing to go to the odd expo and crash partys with .

Just FYI. I don't believe the RPF guidelines allow for live links.

As for VT armor...I don't think you will hear a favorable response here based on where it came from regardless of how good it looks. Don't take the comments to come personally.

Taking a look now , from what im seeing tho looks like a bunch of ppl ont he first imperial stormtrooper detatchment say its a goold mold, and that they either one at least the helmet or have previously owned one. blah now ebay says its $99 to ship it : /

VT is a recaster plain and simple, people like this like to justify but he's a thief bottom line.

a screen accurate one ?? now THERE's a good question ;P

there are ones that are not linked to thousands of "recasting morality" threads because they are fan sculpted
(1) FX armor + helmet
(2) TM armor

there was a guy recently doing vac formed armor, scuolpted from scratch - vac trooper I think he goes by on FISD. Not seen the whole thing myself though

What price integrity and honesty ?
How much is yours worth ?

Get an AP suit you might pay more but at least you know it's not recast.

ur first link is the one alot of ppl dont like due to moral reasons , and the other two are bids will end up being quite alot

hows the AM set? only thing that worries me about the AP is a read it may be a tight fit for the helmet, i kidna have a big head . BTW im 5'10 180 pounds, but not overweight

your height and weight have nothing to do with your head size. do you know your hat size in inches?

I have a 7.25 or 7.5 depending on how much hair i'm rocking, and the set I have which I always forget what it is, I think its pre-AP (late 90's) has a small helmet and it fits fine.

where are you from. there are stormtrooper groups all over the world.

I havent looked into FX, but arent alot of the "FX" out there recasts of the first FX sculpt?

is AM good?? its alot cheaper then AP. And i am from Ontario, just outside of windsor

It depends what you mean by good.

It's better than FX, yes, but no where near the level that AP is at.

To be honest, I'd just save up and get the AP as you're a good size for it. The AM kit's helmet is pretty much an FX and the armour is made for larger people.
