Stolen Fett!!

I appreciate the thoughts and offers, everyone. As for now, I am still holding out hope that it is either found or returned. It was in a black 2014 Toyota 4Runner, stowed in the cargo area. It is stored inside a Stanley rolling toolbox.

I feel for you. I had my old stormtrooper armor lifted by the gardeners at my old condo complex in 1998.

no onstar? or satellite radio? no way of finding the truck electronically?

I talked to my dealership about tracking it on Saturday afternoon. While they sold me on the undercoating when I bought the truck in June 2014, they never mentioned anything about electronic GPS tracking being a possibility to me when I bought it. Never occurred to me to ask for that at the time, either.
So, when I go in to talk to the sales department about any sort of tracking, they ask me, "Well, did you pay for that when they did the paperwork?"
"No, they didn't. But they really sold me on the undercoating."
"Well, if they didn't sell it to you, there's really nothing you can do".
At this time, the sales manager walked up and asked me if I was the guy with the movie costume that got stolen. He saw the story about it on the morning news.

how about posting a bounty on the bounty hunter....might turn up some leads. just a thought.

holy crap it made the news!? thats a good thing, now the thief knows the costume is worth something, he will try posting it somewhere for sale

as for the tracking, there is a system called "lojack". my girlfriend and i bought our first new car in 2012. the dealership sold us on GSP tracking, since her car is ranked 1 of the most stolen cars. the system was 600 bucks, BUT our insurance knocked it off our insurance bill. idk if it was a promotion at the time or what but it ended up being free. its a awesome little gadget, we have it linked to our phones so if the alarm goes off we get a text, if the car moves with out the key in the ignition we get a phone call from a lojack agent (24hr service) i was washing the car one day, and when i go to shine the tires with tire shine, you always miss the very bottom because the sponge can't fit correctly. so i popped it in neutral and pushed it so the missing spot on the bottom now faces the top... so maybe pushed it 2 feet, we got a damn phone call saying our car moved without the key in it. i thought that was amazing.. i always though GSP worked in 6foot intervals.. that proved me wrong

anyway, i would check with ur insurance company and see if they do the same thing ours did, it was well worth it for us. she recently caught some crack head trying to open her car door, we got a phone call for that as well. if i was on my pc i would upload the security camera footage from our house. thats a awesome investment too, best thing i ever did was the security cameras on her house

i hope something happens for ya, its quite odd for that truck to get stolen, it had to have been taken away on a flat bed or trailer because "hot wiring" is a thing of the past now with all the electronics and PATS's systems in the vehicles..

the truck will turn up sooner or later, hopefully the costume will as well, i am really rooting for you. i hate scumbags...

Great news!! My costume turned up at a police detachment an hour from my house. An anonymous drop-off. The officers knew who it belonged to, as well! They're no experts, but they think all the parts are there: boots, cloth parts, jetpack, helmet, armour. I didn't pack my EE-3 so it never got stolen.

Looks like he made it back out of the Sarlaac pit!

That's great news. Now if only they could get your vehicle back. Maybe time to dust the Fett for prints?

My thoughts are these (said in Nathan Fillion's voice)... car thief underling steals your car with your Fett costume inside. Your story gets in the news and as a result, it causes "heat" for the car thief ring in question. Car thief boss threatens to make the underling "disappear" if this is not resolved. The underling thinks that returning said Fett armor/costume will somehow magically take the heat off of him and those he works for.

As you can see, I watch way too much TV and that's probably not even close to being right, lol.

Can't express how happy I am for you! While a car is more expensive in general, it is "easier" replaced (also via insurances) whereas such unique items carry much morr value to them which can't be measured in money.

Congratulations!
