Steel StormTrooper in the works

A real man would have formed this while wearing the raw piece, to insure a proper fit. You are a real man, right? :lol

Kidding, of course. This is a phenomenal project! I'm still learning the very basics of sheet metal work at my aviation job (I'm an avionics/electrical guy, not a metalpecker) and seeing stuff like this really makes me want to get into it more. Can't wait to see some more pieces come to life!

' MetalPecker '...:lol how appropriate!
Hope you dont mind if I borrow that term.
Anyone want the aluminum castoff helmet?
I'd trade for something equally odd or may cut the bottom
off and re metalmash it into a Rocketeer helmet.

this looks totally awesome....its a shame you couldn't get the whole helmet done using the one method

Um you need to make a set of witchking/nazgul gauntlets. I have templates with instructions lol

would you care to PM me those Amish Trooper? i've been looking for some recently....

So cool! Trooper vs knight.

Dont look at the rubies to much though. ;)

Looking forward to see progress. :thumbsup

Nice, one of the head members in the 501st has a steel(?) TK helmet in his possession from another's abandoned project. I liked to wear it while playing Rockband, slightly intoxicated of course, at his parties :lol

I admire your efforts and dedication to this project... This is truly artistic and well made craftmenship... Sorry... Not well made but i think fantastic.. Keep the good work up! Love to se more progress of this.

How is it not well made? He is tack welding the parts to fit then I'm guessing he will make needed corrections and then weld and clean up. I'm not a welder but I have had enough work for me. I think his metal work is nice and clean.

I do think the Chest needs to be redone. the angles are wrong. and throws off the chest

lol

so ironic that i found this while searching "welding" on the forum.

I started metal stormtrooper molds in october.... glad to see someone else taking a crack at it. although you seem to be using it as a final product, instead of a medium.

I'm just sick of repairing wood molds... steel isn't ever going to degree for me. nice shaping on this stuff
