What are the dates steampunk covers? I would also like to
see some of your steampunk items, and costumes.
It would help me out finish my costume for DragonCon.

Thank you,
Jason (aka Unfated)

ok thats it....... i know ill be looked upon as stupid for asking this
but what IS STEAMPUNK?

someone please explain

I think it is a genre of science fiction based on the principle that modern day design is still based on that of the steam-driven Victorian era before the internal combustion engine. Steam power seems to be manifest in all the technology from scientific gadgets to dirigibles. It seems to be an antiquated off-shoot of cyberpunk.

Edit: To answer your question about dates for Steampunk, the Victorian era would certainly be foremost. The Victorian Era lasted from the pass of the Reform Act in 1832 to the end of Queen Victoria's rule in 1901. Although, any date seems to be acceptable in an alternate history setting where steam power rose to prominence in a history where the internal combustion engine didn't exist. Though even those tales seem to romanticize other elements of design and style from the Victorian era.

Steampunk is based in the victorian era, and steampunk props are based in technology that runs on steam power. Simple as that.

remember doc brown's steam powered refridgerator from BTTF3? THAT was steampunk!

Brass goggles is THE Steampunk site to get your info. Here are some of my SP props:

I'm working on my own version of the last gun in your pictures.

I love those props!

I've always loved steampunk and right now I'm in the process of casting a real 1870something Colt Navy I own to make a steampunk style gun!
