Starting the Gene simmons codpiece(pic in 1st post)

Ok, I finished the studs on the belt today. I am happy with the results. Now I just need to seam it and add snaps and it will be done.

I had to use "Artistic" license, cause I am bigger than Gene destroyer era, more like Reunion gene!

I just spaced the studs a bit further apart, and added an extra one under the circle.

Here is the only shot I have so far from a co workers phone:

So I started last night on the codpiece. There is a pic below of the one I am going for. my question is, how tall is the main belt part? The studs are one inch diameter. I am guessing that the belt is 7" tall.

Does that sound right?

I was going to post on how I needed a yard stick to measure out MY codpiece...but I decided to go the high road and just say that I have no useful information I can offer here.:angel

That's about right Pat. Certainly no taller.

I'll try and dig up some additional pics of the belt by itself. I've worn that belt before!

It was of course too tight in the crotch.

Ok guys, I tried sewing the vinyl together but broke two needles.

If I leave enough to overlap the vinyl, is there a glue that would be best to use? I was thinking something like contact cement or E6000.

I was afraid to try super glue. It doesn't seem to hold like it used to. I'll see about gorilla glue.

So I did 130+ studs by hand, only to find out there is a tool to do it! DOH.

Happy with it so far. I am waiting for a friend to sew the seams. I sent off a roll of Leather for the scales to a friend in Oregon. She does corsets mostly, but wants to try more costuming stuff, so I am her guinea pig.

What I can't figure out is how to do the part of the codpiece that covers your junk.

Trying to figure out how to get the "Bulge" to hold it's shape. I have seen some makers that are very flat.
