Starkiller WIP (Need some help)

So I started my own version of Starkiller's training gear for when he was in space alone if he had kept it and been unable to keep it from suffering major wear and tear and had grown his hair out (More Realistic) Basically an excuse to not have to shave my head.

Anyway, I'm starting with a mixture of these pictures and from there I will alter the costume:

So I have 3 questions.

1. How can I dirty some white sheets that are made of a starchy, canvas like material for the bandages that wont wash out and will look good.

2. How can I rip up and destroy the clothes so it will look good, mainly fraying the edges since I'm bad at that.

3. Can anyone identify the colors of the shirt, pants, and loin cloth? I think I want to go with black for the pants and shirt like in the first picture since I've already done the gloves and they are black. Opinions?

Well for the shirt you can get a really good match to that by taking one package of black RIT Dye with a 5 Gallon Bucket and dying a shirt that color I was trying to take my white shirts I had at one point and dye them black I ended up with a light charcoal color. For the pants I would say the color is a darker charcoal, the loincloth I would say is Olive color. if you really want to dirty up some sheets for the rags, take a bucket with a lid add some dirt, gravel, and rocks and shake it around for a while to dirty them up. And if you want to fray up the edges of the holes like what's on the shirt cut holes out then pull at the fabric either with your fingers or tear at the hole with a pair of pliers to give the holes some wear and tear. As for the boots I can help you there as well they appear to be the same kind of boots that Imperial Officers, or TIE Pilots would wear.

I agree with everything you said, :D

And thanks for the pauldron pep btw. :thumbsup

As far as the restraining bolt, it looks like it was spot welded on to that area, maybe it's for his communicator somehow?

I'm actually working on the Bolt on the Pauldron right now, using a tiny glade sense and spray can and the end cap of the build your own lightsaber toy kit

(It's the cap on the end of the main body already.)

I'll have pictures of it tomorrow ready to be painted and attached hopefully.

And some pictures of the start of my Starkiller lightsaber made from the same above kit that the restraining bolt was

I'm a tad surprised. The Restraining Bolt came out better than I thought it would. As for the lightsaber, it's gonna require a fair bit of work as well as a paint job. I just looked it up and as far as this goes, it's looking alright, my only concern is you won't be able to make it look as screen accurate as you would like, IJS.

1, yes, I agree with all of that

2, what are you, a 12 year old school girl? IJS?!?! You're like 16, type ******** you :D

I use FB a lot mmk? Try it and see what happens when your friend list is primarily composed of teenage girls. I can't hardly read a status without seeing something like that, so after a while, it rubs off.
Sue me.

Hmm, I remember something like that on myspace, I started ignoring and un-adding everyone that talked like that, oh god I'm getting old :thumbsup

And I will never be on Facebook, NEVERRRRRRR

Good on you, Prince NEO, and those are EXCELLENT questions in the first post (I'm also quite interested in hearing information on 1 and 2).

Can't wait to hear their answers and see further progress on this excellent project!

thanks Jamanticus,

I actually found out there there is a little knife tool that is good for cutting rips and tears as well as fraying, it's for removing stitch-work or something, we used it in drama to tear up a guys shirt who was stabbed to death.

As far as the 1st one, I like Vagabonds idea of just letting them rot in a bucket of dirt for a week or two, then I'm going to take them out and wash them to make sure the color wont go back to white.

The only problem is that I've found it's 100x easier to to bandages with a person to wrap them around your arm and put the main stitching, so I have to wait until the next time I'm at Shade's house or the other way around.

Oh no you didn't!
:D :thumbsup :thumbsup

One of my new favorites, where is that old music sharing thread.

haha, I see it now, I had to re-listen to the song, my mom likes it too and said it's a slower version of "the who's you better you bet"
