STARGATE: Horus / Anubis Masks

Well, here it is!
I actually spray polyster primer into the mold.
Then use a Bondo/ polyster Resin mix for a gel coat, cause I hate real gel coat.

I'm glad to know I'm not alone. Gel coat sucks!! :lol

Also, I officially hate you. A lot. :p

My 5yo would say that is a hundred of awesome. I reckon it's a thousand of awesome. :lol :thumbsup

Nwerke!
hahahah

This might make it worse...

Wow, you're not kidding. Can't wait to see this piece take shape. :thumbsup

Amazing, astounding work! I have the Horizon resin kits and these photos will help so much in getting the details right. Thank you, so much!

Amazing!

This is looking incredible, man! I saw the original Anubis prop on display at the EMP Museum here in Seattle, and while this isn't the same thing, they have the same look and I think you've pretty much nailed it!

Can't wait to see this all finished!

Actually it is the same thing! These are all taken from studio pieces and Frank was the source for the Anubis headpieces that are in circulation, too.

Looking sharp, Frank!

This is so beautiful. It really amazes me sometimes, the amount of DETAIL some (often) anonymous prop masters put in their art. Beautiful!

That
artist made an incredible job with that bastet jaffa. you're right Frank, would be great to see it as a real mask.

The headdress is kinda cool. Almost just the standard neck and then a reworked Anubis head - shorter snout and ears. Though it does look at bit slimmed down. The neck armor could be a little bigger though, more in style with the male versions.

It could definitely be done digitally, but then the pieces would have to be machined or printed. Don't know how it would be possible to slim the pieces by molding and casting them, but I'm sure it may be possible!?
