A while back I purchased one of Xenoweb's kits and have been working on it off and on throughout the year. Yesterday I finally have neared completion, enough that here's some pics of the near complete Stargate!
First a shot from a distance, I played with Photoshop for a while and got a pseudo event horizon effect working with some filters. When complete, the center section is actually going to be mirrored plexiglass and it will hang on the wall.
A bit closer look at the chevron sections. The chevrons when I painted them came out a slight shade lighter than the rest. I think I actually prefer it that way though haven't decided for certain if I'll repaint them to darken them a little. They aren't attached yet, just laying on the area.
Another closer shot. There's a little bit of play in the alignment of the gate sections that will even out when the plexiglass is mounted to stabilize it all the way around.
