I have just returned from a local Starfleet surplus scrapyard (which I visit twice a month), where I came across a fairly good condition, well maintained, EPS Electroplasma System tap that still works!

I know these things are dangerous if not handled properly by "Authorized Personnel", but I couldn't resist the temptation to "fire it up"....

I use the Type III for the secondary power distribution system here at the house, but it's power conversion has weakened, so it's nice to find one in such good shape.

Thank goodness the radiation and magnetic flux discharge is low on this unit. I am not sure how long it was in use before it was removed from service.
