OK guys how cool is this,
Issue 177 of game informer, Jan 2008 issue page 24

There is mention in the magazine of a game, its a " guess the game" and has a screenshot of Starfighter.
It talks about how a group of people reversed engineered the game and created a full version of the game and put it on the internet.

The only thing I can think of is this is the game evaii and a group of us helped to create and distribute to you all fine folks.

Someone here did build and program the Last Starfighter game.

Yea evaii did a majority of the work and a few other help when they could. I even put my 2 cents in and made it into the credits of the game.

I just think its cool thats it listed now in the game magazine

Thanks for the kind words guys- I haven't seen the Game Informer article yet- The project got a little attention a month or so back- I think it went Galactica Watercooler===>Makezine===>Engadget then dispersed for the Warhol 15 minutes- Very cool indeed-The project is pretty much done (except still waiting on the handles to be machined- Got Happ topfires in there now)- The cabinet specs, software, artwork, are all on the site either under the Starfighter page or resources page (including a passable version of the Instruction sheet)- All is freeware/shareware- Also, some updated pics on the MySpace link.

Definitely a group effort on the project and very pleased with the final result-

This actually got the attention of an indie film director (Mike May) so working on an evil arcade game for a small feaure (The Altar of the Unnamed)- Much fun indeed-
