Absolutely nothing wrong with a sucker punch as long as it is delivered hard and on target! 
But....but.....I thought Star Wars was dead!?
Again, ticket sales don't equate quality films.

Unless they go with the whole Palpatine cloning himself story. In any case talking with my wife last night, and she still has hope this will be a good movie, I think there is way too much stuff to explain and then make up for as an apology for the last movie to stuff in 3hrs. It just looks like they are throwing Star Wars stuff everywhere with zero idea of what makes the series Star Wars.
but it does say it’s not dead... cuz if the ticket sales were abysmal, everyone would be pointing to it and saying “see! Dead!”

But who is the arbiter of what makes a “quality” film?
...it’s not Scorsese and Coppola is it? I’d hate to hear what they think of these silly space flicks.
(on a more serious note, IMO each individual gets to decide what is “quality” and what is not. But that’s a discussion that’s already been had, and a rabbit hole I’m not going to go down again.)

The trailer looks good, but a lot of trailers for these new films looked good. I'm going to go see it but im not going to expect much.

here's something dude, by saying this you assume that both friendship is based on the amount of time spent with someone, and that han, luke, leia, r2, and chewie can be his only friends ever.

I'm theorizing here. It's been said that Palpatines return has been hinted at. So just maybe Snoke was connected to Palpatine. Maybe Palpatine is Snoke or Snoke was a puppet or front for Palpatine. Now Snoke is gone it's time for Palpatine to come out of hinding.
This is the Skywalker story coming to an end. This is all happening because of Palpatine. He created Anakin through the force. Palpatine is the sole reasonall of this is happening and is the core of the story. He is needed to bring a real closure of the story. Although many can argue that ROTJ is the end of it. It stands on its own as the Skywalker ending. But the fact is we have a new trilogy and IX is our end to the Skywalker story.

I don't think that assumption is in the quote. C3PO spent not only many years with the OT crew but also formative years facing peril and adventure together.
Personally I'm of the opinion that a collection of non living mechanical parts have as much chance of feeling friendship as my laptop does so the whole sequence seems like yet another stupid nostalgia grab from DSW.

My theory is the First Order is a contingency plan created by Palpatine. Snoke was a follower of Palpatine. And was given the responsibility of readying the galaxy for his return.
