Edit: sorry, I thought we were talking about falling into holes and coming back to life.Boba Fett?
I mean, I don’t disagree that it’s the case with Snoke, but let’s not pretend it didn’t happen in the OT as well.
You pretty much exactly described Boba Fett, yet he's still in of the most popular characters in all the films, & when he was actually given a backstory from the man who created the character, everything about it was crucified because it wasn't the head Canon that people expected.Zero back story, Zero introduction, Zero character arc, Zero plot relevance, Zero importance to the continuation of the story, Died like a chump, never mentioned again.
Was Snoke in TFA a lead villain? I saw him as having a similar sort of role as the Emperor in ESB. A projection that the lead villain (Ren and Vader, respectively) talked to. Maybe someone controlling things behind the scenes, but certainly not the most imminent threat to the heroes.Boba wasn't a lead villain though.
Yes, this corresponds with what I’m saying. Both Snoke and Fett are killed and are never spoken of again.Boba died in the OT, the retconning occurred much later.
Boba really didn't have anything to do in ROTJ, his part in the story actually ended in ESB. Pretty sure he was just there to look cool and be someone for the heros to fight.Yes, this corresponds with what I’m saying. Both Snoke and Fett are killed and are never spoken of again.
Boba Fett?

I get your point but there's a big difference between the "Lone Gunslinger with no name" side character with mystique about himYou pretty much exactly described Boba Fett, yet he's still in of the most popular characters in all the films, & when he was actually given a backstory from the man who created the character, everything about it was crucified because it wasn't the head Canon that people expected.
Not trying to be combative. Just pointing out a fact.
I don't see Vader's helmet at all, I see two oval eye openings. Also Rey and Kylo both strike this "thing" with their 'sabers. The dagger is in Rey's off hand. That would be Vader’s helmet. Watch it again.
You don't think that's Vader's melted helmet on the pedestal from the previous films?I don't see Vader's helmet at all, I see two oval eye openings. Also Rey and Kylo both strike this "thing" with their 'sabers. The dagger is in Rey's off hand.
Well considering that Palpatine was in the the works from the very start of the ST.And this is my problem.. it’s cool that snoke doesn’t matter?
Is that fair to the fans?
Just a classic example of poor writing and no creativity
You can tell by the lack of activity in this thread how unexcited everyone is...
that second screen cap COULD be, I didn't see that angle, but JJ is know for his misdirection. I guess we will all know in a few months. You don't think that's Vader's melted helmet on the pedestal from the previous films?View attachment 1076122

If Disney wants me back this is how they could do it
Bring in the rebels crew..
Jacen being force sensitive
Ashoka helping rey train
Hera a general
Chopper!!
But....but.....I thought Star Wars was dead!?
Ok, but doesn’t this description sound just like the OT Emperor, though? Prior to the prequels existing, who was he? What was his backstory, his character arc?I get your point but there's a big difference between the "Lone Gunslinger with no name" side character with mystique about him
and the Biggest Baddie Supreme Leader of the Entire First Order with unmatched force abilities that came out of nowhere, took control and rebuilt the ***king empire. One works better with no backstory and no character arc, the other, not so much.
