Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (Pre-release)

Unless the part we’re not seeing is that 3po was caught in self contemplation and we see flashbacks to the last 2 trilogies that he’s “looking” at.
Yeah. This is what I think is happening. There was something I read 20+ years ago that stated if they ever were really to get to "the end", it was going to be revealed that the story was being told from the droids' memory banks.

To preface what's coming. I love the ST films out so far, even with their flaws. But for the first time, I've seen a trailer that doesn't excite me, or make me feel like I want to watch it.

I will as I'm still invested in the saga, however I just can't seem to feel the same as I did with the TFA/TLJ and teasers of this film.

The lack of excitement is probably much less than you think. Presales for the movie have already broke an all time record. There are much more fans excited with the movie than some here would like to accept. As I have always said there are still a majority of fans that still follow and look forward to these films. Been more vocal about your contempt dont make your side a "vast" majority.

How goddamn insulting is it to have 3PO call these clowns that hes spent hardly any time with “his friends” compared to everything he went through with Han, Luke, Leia, and Chewie...

GFYS Disney

How do you know for certain that he isn't referring to Luke, Leia etc?

He's obviously hooked up to something and with the teaser showing him with red eyes, how do you know his memory isn't about to be taken out and replaced with new programme memory? Therefore he is thinking of Luke et al, just before he loses those memories.

What I'm thrilled about the most. Is learning why the Force brought Rey of Jakku together with Ben Solo. Why are they connected? What is the Force doing? And what the heck is Palpatine up to? He's the puppet master. So you know he's got nefarious plans for our heroes.

So 3PO will essentially be "killed" too?

Maybe, maybe not. I wouldn't like to guess and state it as a fact.

My point was more that until we know for certain what happens in that scene, instantly getting a sad on about a line like that is just winding ourselves up over potentially nothing.

We don't know who he is referring to, or why until it's out.

I'm not super thrilled about Palpatine being back. From the very little we have on it so far, it feels to me personally that it lessens the sacrifice of Anakin in RoTJ

Wow that’s good then!
