How is there "balance" in the Force if the Dark side is eliminated?
Because that's not how the Force works. The Dark Side is a malignancy on the Force. It is not the Force in its natural state. If you have two lungs, and one of them has cancer, nobody would call that "balanced."

Oh, and btw, that whole LBGTQ kiss at the end was so stupid. Why is it that every industry in the world has to pander to that? Even Oscar Isaac said that he would have liked to have seen his character hook up with Finn. What is the world coming to?
Right? Next thing we know, black people will want to have representation in films! And Asians, and Latinos! Whatever is this world coming to when we show that the entire universe isn't made up entirely of straight white men?!

Haven't posted in any SW threads in a while ( except for The Mandalorian of course), but since I have the main ****** from the TLJ threads ignored, I figured it was tolerable to do so...

So I'm wondering if anyone else got this read from the film- It seems that Leia gave her life so that Rey could use her 'lifeforce' to heal Ben from a mortal wound because there was good in him. Maybe she knew he would be needed to defeat Palpatine.

Anyone else thinking that maybe Padme did the EXACT same thing in ROTS?

She'd seen Palpatine ascend to Emperor, thus killing democracy. Anakin told her on Mustafar that he could destroy Palpatine. So now I'm thinking that Padme gave her 'lifeforce' to save Anakin from his mortal wounds because she knew there was still good in him, & he'd be the only chance anyone would have to stop the Emperor.

It never sat well with me that she'd basically abandon her children, just because she had a broken heart, but if it was to save the entire galaxy, it would make much more sense.

Anyone else feel this might be the case?
I like your Padme theory!

They say your dreams are like 3 seconds long, but your brain unpacks it over the night...

That is what this movie feels like. I got a shot in the brain of this movie... and now Im just trying to remember what happened. all good ideas, all on crack speed.

ALL this sith palaptine stuff would be great if just hinted at more.

If ep 8 had been about the knights of ren, the saber... the first introduction that palpatine was cloning snoke... that the sith temple existed the same time we find luke is at the jedi temple.

This movie may have done what JJ may have intended... to make me even more mad Rian went so far away from TFA...

Abrams should have done all 3. damn.

That isn't what I meant, I meant the way it was shown in the movie (very random).

And, to keep with Star Wars tradition, it doesn't work.

I'm all for equal rights, but that just feels FORCED.

As for balancing the Force, I guess.

What about my other 17 questions?

I didnt even see it. I have no idea what hes talking about.

I actually read that and thought...

KYLO ISNT A WOMAN - contrary to a lot of fan suggestion. ha
I actually missed it myself, despite being aware of it. My pressing need to pee was kinda overwhelming me at that point in the movie.

“Forced forced forced” is the phrasing that I always hear from people who are “totally fine with representation™️“ yet this instance was far from being in your face and was no more forced than any of the other emotion we’re apparently supposed to be feeling after this “victory”.

Yeah there were NO places to go pee. Every scene opened by letting you know there was an imminent threat that could pounce any second...

If JJ was a little kid and someone brought him over saying,

This is my kid, JJ, he has a great idea how to end this whole thing!

Then little JJ would go into his rapid fire ideas...

This happens! then this! And then this! AND THEN... AND THEN... AND THEN!!!

I would pat his head and say,

Oh thats not bad, lil JJ, but maybe too much for one movie... When would I run out to pee... you need a casino or Rathtars....

Happy DSW day!

I mean, judging by your sentences in that post about a Poe/Finn pairing, pandering, and “what is this world coming to” I didn’t really see how you were advocating it for a main character.

I was speaking about the lack of respect in the industry. Pandering to people who DON'T want to see it.

I see that you’ve edited your post, but I still disagree about it being stupid and not fitting SW.

WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM???

I edited my post because of this reaction. I meant it doesn't fit into the SW universe because of how it was DONE. IN THE MOVIE.

I don't know you and I don't care what you think. I know what I know, and I know what I believe in.
