If a country would boycott your film for a mere 3 seconds of footage there is nothing illegal in cutting what parts could be offensive according to the customs of that region in particular. The LGBQT community should direct their efforts in each country they feel is against them so the issue gets resolved. If the film is showed and some retrograde government bans it that would be a very unfair situation for the fans of the Star Wars franchise.

I bet you anything you want any other film would have done the same, hell even Lucas himself. Disney, as any other corporation is in it for the money. That's the way is is, for good of for worse.

Star Wars isnt a film. Its a movie. Made to make money.

Talking to my parents last night I mentioned I would self fund this short film idea Ive had. Its a lot of personal stuff.

They asked how I will get that money back. I told them I wouldnt.

The seemed shocked and I had to explain that sometimes you make movies... and sometimes you make film.

Movies are for money...

Film is your art.

They can be interchanged, but like Scarecrow Joe is saying, 3 seconds cut for million$$$ - its not even a question. The Kiss is not the hill a popcorn flick is gonna die on.

If a country wasnt gonna show the flick cuz they dont allow beige clothing - they would color correct every character.

If a country wont show cuz Wedge is wanted there for high crimes.... BYE WEDGE! SORRY FAN SERVICE! it was fun to have him in, but we got share holders.

Keeping this pretty simple. The movie was a good entertaining film. I liked it and I thought they really tried hard to make this one actually RESPECT the previous films. And now Spoilers..
The Emperor being defeated by Rey doesn't bug me. The Emperor came back in the comics and that didn't bother me either. It didn't make Anakin's redeption worth any less to me. I liked how they sort of redeemed Luke away from his negative attitude in TLJ by him telling her he was wrong and him telling her a Jedi's weapon should be treated with respect, after catching it. It doesn't bother me that Force Ghosts can interact with the physical world, at least partially. Obi-Wan sat on log in Force Ghost form. It's not like he fell through it. What I didn't really like? The Force healing was ... okay.. Didn't bug me much I guess. Maybe because I saw it in The Mandalorian first. The whole teleporting objects through the Force was a bit weird and just seemed like a bit too much to me, but I can let that go I guess since Ben and Rey seem to be really powerful Jedi. I'd rather it have been used WAY less though. They did well with what they had to work with with Carrie Fisher. I wish Maz wasn't in the movie. She's annoying everytime she shows up on screen. I just don't care for that character. The kiss was sort of reasonable as they obviously had some sort of attraction to each other in the previous films but it also felt a little forced. I liked seeing Han again. I'm glad he was just a memory and thought playing out in Ben's head and not a Force Ghost. The Emperor shooting lighting into the sky and taking out a lot of ships was a bit much but I guess he did just absorb a lot of Sith power or something? I also am VERY surprised I was okay with her taking the Skywalker name. I know the movie was rushed but they didn't have much choice. It was either rushing it some to fix the mess TLJ left behind or make a fourth film. I wouldn't have minded a fourth film actually. I was hoping they'd break format and go with that. Overall the movie was fun and entertaining, but a little flawed here and there. I'm pleasantly surprised it was as good as it was and it's definetly better than the previous two films.

No need for a spoiler tag on the post release thread

Funny how you put forward a perspective on a posed question and provide two examples for the reasoning behind it and the focus is narrowed to just one example and backed up with rants up until the point when the view is it should never have even been discussed.

dfrey79 I'm with you. My nephew took me to see the movie (bought the tickets and everything). He lost his dad to suicide last year and wanted to thank me for all I have done for him. When the STAR WARS came on screen and the scroll started it's hard for people my age (41) not to tear up. Unfortunately the movie was just meh in my opinion. But I ate my popcorn and spent time with me nephew so you're right. That is what matters.

So sorry to hear that story... hope things turn around for him. Great to hear you are helping him through this

Funny how you still insist on discussing this, which has no place in this forum. My point of view is crystal clear. Find another forum to keep discussing this if you like. As we agree above keep it out of here. We agree on it, you cant?

I`m not discussing it further, just pointing out how much of a blow hard you have been recently in this thread. You had no problem buying in to something that was quoting someone else at the time. Just post another "no one cares what you think" meme and keep away from a weak cancel culture attempt.
