Star Wars: The Last Jedi (Pre-release)

Re: Star Wars: Episode VIII (Pre-release)

Do they though? Or are you just asking IF they did...

I don't mind if they were crude, and crappy and they were very hacky and untrained with them. just brute force swordsmen.

i dont know if they do, the concept art book showed them with sabers on their belts. i was just wondering how everyone else feels if they end up using sabers. rumors close to the release of episode 7 was they were in ep7 and had red and purple lightsabers. this proved to be false but at the time i wasn't upset with it.

i wonder if the knights do use sabers if it will make kylo little less special? idk

Re: Star Wars: Episode VIII (Pre-release)

Weren't there photos of this moment? Kylo at the island Rey flew to confronting Luke?

As an aside... When Rey ripped the saber from the snow past Kylo and that music kicked on... I got a little choked.

The first time Luke lights up a saber and that theme kicks on, I may full on sob.

ha.

Yes but from so far away as to be difficult to confirm who and what is going on.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VIII (Pre-release)

I almost want to read that book, almost. I'm liking that they kept the concept of Grand Admirals, because they're interesting. Also the idea that the New Republic captured and reuses Imperial ships. The fact that pirates somehow got a SSD is not very believable though. In the old EU there was a pirate group with an ISD, but it was a former Imperial ship whose captain went pirate. I also noticed this, which may just be phrasing:
Leia is already pregnant with the couple’s first child
Now that might just mean it's their first child, but could it also mean they have another that we haven't met yet?

Re: Star Wars: Episode VIII (Pre-release)

But Matt Lanter modeled his voice patterns off of Hayden. Without Hayden, Lanter would do it differently, if they even chose Lanter.

No, I just think Pablo would have ignored the questions on that matter, like he does for other things. That's what I feel. (Responding to post quoted below.)

Of course he could be blantatly lying. Just think if someone ask Irvin kershner during the filming of empire " hey is Darth Vader Luke's dad ?"
What would he have said ? And what is Pablo contracted to say now ? I hear the last guy that got caught leaking info was tied into his seat on the its a small world ride and not let off all day they don't mess around at Disney!
That said him being some dude palpy took under wing long ago is not bad would not mind that being what they go with .

Yeah, this idea of LucasFilm actually lying about stuff is none sense. They just won't respond to things they want kept secret. Most of this stems from Into Darkness but even JJ admitted that was a mistake and he doesn't call the shots at LF.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VIII (Pre-release)

RJ confirmed today that Ep VIII immediately after the end of Ep.VII.

3. Episode VIII will start right at the moment where Episode VII: The Force Awakens left off.
Rian Johnson — who Kennedy said was on her radar long before she arrived at Lucasfilm in 2012 due to his celebrated work on films like Brick and Looper — spoke in especially broad terms while discussing the follow-up to The Force Awakens. But he did reveal the precise scene that will kick off Episode VIII: “When we started coming up with the story, I realized that [we were going to] end up breaking a longstanding Star Wars tradition, and for the first time, this movie is going to start right where the last one left off,” he said. “I don’t want to skip ahead. That last moment in VII — I want to see what happens.”

Re: Star Wars: Episode VIII (Pre-release)

So the 1st scene will be of them putting flynn's body in the plastic bag with a toe tag? Then show them holding a memorial for all their fallen Homies. Or start right off at Luke yelling at Rey?

i just hope this movie will be a lot better then 7.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VIII (Pre-release)

Also interesting that Jakku has some secret importance.

Not that secret. All of the ancillary material that's come out about the Battle of Jakku said there was a secret Imperial research facility there, thus the Imperial forces rallying there. When it became apparent the Rebels were going to win the day, the hardliners grabbed everything and fled to the Unknown Regions, eventually becoming the First Order.

If Snoke was Rax, it'd be interesting to see how that transformation occurred, presumably following that battle.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VIII (Pre-release)

Wow that is interesting indeed. I've heard a lot of good things about Rian Johnson and am really looking forward to seeing what Ep.VIII brings. It's def my most anticipated of the upcoming slate of SW films.
