I find your honesty refreshing! Too many people are just raving because it IS STAR WARS and they have built the hype up, they cannot ever admit they don't like it now :lol
Heck, I loved the one person who said, "if you don't like ANY of the seven films then you are not a real fan". And I KNOW you are a real fan, so it is nice to hear your honest opinion of the film, as a fan.

Thanks. I had high hopes for this movie. I had concerns but I still thought it would be much, much more than it looked. Turns out it was not and all my concerns were just the tip of the iceberg.

I remember when Ep 1 came out it was the same thing. A lot of people said they loved it and I told a friend to wait and watch and over the next year people will come to realize how bad it was and even though many said it was bad from the start many said it was good. Not so much with Ep 2 as people seemed to hate it across the board but with Ep 3 it was the same thing. After a while people admitted it was not good either.

Now rarely does anyone claim to like the prequels.

I was not depressed after the prequels because I knew they did not look good but I waited 32 years to see this movie.

Man what a let down.

I really want to sell all my props and leave this hobby behind.

I am hoping that feeling will change.

Well in a 7 film series if you don't like any of them how could you be a fan? I mean surely that is the definition of a fan, that you like something? Even if you only liked one and hated the other six.

I went in expecting a reboot disguised as the next chapter and that's exactly what I got.

I think you misunderstood my post. The quote I referred too was from a person who claimed if you are a fan you must like all 7 and not dislike any of them. To me that is absurd. I can like four out of seven and still be a fan. I can be a Def Leppard fan but hate their last album, it doesn't change that I am a fan.

Why would it be merged with a love fest? The fact that someone has thrown down with an absolute, "I hate it" makes it worthy of it's own thread!
People are falling over themselves to prove who loved it more and why. This on is unique.

I really seen the previews , and I care nothing for seeing the movie at all , unless I get it on DVD or something..

I will and forever will be a huge fan of the original s ANH , ESB , ROTJ.....that's it , don't like the new stuff and characters and now I hear Han has been killed...well really know , I have no interest , so..I prefer to stay with what I grew up with only !!!!!!

I agree. There should be a place for those who didn't like it to discuss their opinion and issues with the film. Keep negative posts from pooping on the ones who liked it and keep the ones who liked it from pooping on this thread's view. I think the issue most who liked it will have with a stand alone "hate thread", is that they have to come into a separate thread to defend it and bash those who go against the grain. And they will HAVE TO COME IN to make a post.... Why? Because they "know they can change your mind" by coming in a debating it with you :lol

I have no interest in changing anyone's opinion. I just wanna vent about all the crap I didn't like without some fan boy trying to perform an exorcism. Because, then I'd have to track them down, i.e.; Jay and Silent Bob style.

Was released today in the UK. I got a sneak peak of it yesterday. Theres so much stuff in it I'd have prefered to see in the film to what we actually got. And some that I'm glad didn't. I'd recommend you drop strong hints to your loved ones about possible Xmas presents. I've got every Art of SW since the original.

Try being a fan of Doctor Who, I enjoyed 2 episodes out of the entire last season, still a fan, although sometimes they don't make it easy to be.

That SUCKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Four out of five Star Wars movies with OT cast center on destroying a Death Star. There are other plots you know.

I know, lets not have Luke in it until the very end and no dialogue. I started a Jedi Academy. I sucked at it. Unleashed hell on the Galaxy so now I will go hide like a punk.

A will dump my daughter on a crappy sand world and let her starve. Somehow she becomes a master pilot and can defeat a total bad ass "sith" who demonstrates more power than I or Vader ever could yet she defeats him never having even held a lightsaber.

My old lightsaber is the new one ring. It's "calling" to her. Good thing Gollum is in this movie.

When the going gets tough me and my buddy Han abandon everyone and go hide.

The Falcon is left to rot, open and unguarded but starts right up. Why again is a perfectly good ship left to rot. Oh yeah, also one of the fastest ships ever. Oh yeah, Rey had heard of the Falcon and the Kessel run but again, it just sat there.

Han and Chewy just happen upon the Falcon drifting in space.

A droid, with vital information ends up on a sand planet and just happens to find a stranded Skywalker looking for something more. She needs to get the droid and his secret information to resistance and find an old Jedi. It sure seems like I have seen this move before.

Snoke-Don't know. Just a silly big CGI character. We still know nothing about him.

Hux-WTF??? I thought he was not an impressive looking guy but must be an impressive actor or character. Nope.

The third Death Star is easily destroyed,...again.

Han is killed by his punk son. Really???? Wow. That was really, stupid.

I get it, it's the Cantina. There is doing little nods and then there is copying the entire movie.

Play ANH and TFA side by side. I think they run pretty much parallel.

Luke's lightsaber. Rey finds it, again because Han who coincidentally found here after BB8 coincidentally found her and Han takes her to the one place that coincidentally has Luke's lightsaber. WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!???????????????????????

Oh, we found Luke. Lets send the new girl and Chewy only.

Kylo Ren. The new bad ass Sith, sorry Knight of Ren, whatever the hell that means, throws little temper tantrums and then is easily beaten by a person who has never held a saber and then tries to spare his own little punk life by tempting her to the dark side, Vader was cool, why would anyone follow Kylo Ren since he is such a weak punk.

I know I already mentioned his being beat by her as stupid but it was sooo stupid it was worth mentioning twice.

Han fires Chewy's Bowcaster for the first time ever in this movie. Really?????????????

OMG that was such a horrible, stupid movie. Why would anyone agree to finance this???

We are gonna have a third Death Star. Luke it in 30 seconds and does not speak. Han is in it a bit but is a jerk who abandons everyone and gets killed by his punk son.

Sounds great. Let's do that.

Really really could not get into how Snoke looked. I don't understand why that character had to be cgi, it looked like something that would have been way more convincing as prosthetic and makeup. He just felt straight up "prequels" to me. That's about the only thing that bothered me. Love the rest!

Also, did Constable Zuvio get cut completely?

I'll agree with what was said about the music. The stirring music from the trailers was not present in the film, I never once really "noticed" the music. I wish I had.

Things I found annoying:

*Phasma was supposed to be a bad ass and during her only real screen time (30 seconds) she gets captured and lectures, you're gonna get it!
*Han never fired Chewy's gear? I almost expected him to say, "I gotsta get me one of deeze" they made such a big, slapstick deal out of it.
*Kylo is nothing more than a confused, impetuous kid soldier.
*Rey never touched a saber in her life but with zero training can go toe-to-toe with Kylo.
*Completely unfitting death for Han. The build up was terrible, too. They all but close captioned "Here ya go...we're gonna do it!!" Chewbacca knew it was coming; hell even Rey and Fin saw it a mile away and they just met him! There was enough time for them all to walk down, tap Han on the shoulder and go, "Um, dude...sorry to interrupt, but you know he's gonna kill you, right?"
*R2 under a tarp in leia's garage for 30 years.
*3P0 having to draw attention to his red arm as though people might miss it...silly.

Like I said, this film was a reboot. Orphan on sand planet hoping for more. Droid has secret plans that most be delivered to the princess. Charming wizard pulls a saber out of a box and says, "learn about the force" adventure takes place, primary character is killed, death star 3 is destroyed after flight crew gets a good overhead of it in the rebel bunker, etc. etc.

Brilliant of them, really. Lure in the old and win over the new!

Things I liked:

*Seeing the old targeting computer (graphic) on the Falcon.
* A shot of the training remote
* Poe seems cool.

That's all I got!

I liked the movie.

It felt like ANH and ESB rolled into one. All in all it was a good movie, most certainly if considered a stand alone movie. And please, has anyone ever thought that a new Star Wars movie could live up to the different expectations and hopes and wishes of millions of fans out there?

You might be right about the alien hand I can't remember it exactly, the scream she made made me close my eyes and ears!!!! DO remember the clever flashback to what looked like the Cloud City corridor and the rest. And I did smile to myself when Maz skipped when she was asked how she got hold of Lukes lightsabre !!!!! Theres been ALOT of speculation about that!!

I'd still watch the heck out of it. I got quite attached to Maz and was bummed out that her 'just let it in' dialogue was cut. Also, she just disappeared all together. I want more of her gawddangit!

I'm starting to think it was the fact that it wasn't his real form (holo) near the end that made me accept it more. I really hope they make him look better "IN PERSON" because I do agree that stood out.

I think one of my favorite single shots though was that sunset and TIE Fighters. Man that was so cool. Brief, but loved it.

I think it was overall a fantastic film. I really liked that the saber fighting was more about objective and not being fancy. Kylo used a lot of agressive hacking motions... On the defensive side moves were made out of desparation and not to add flare. It was purposeful fighting out of matter of survival, kill or be killed and using whatever other methods necessary. The lack of showiness made it more believable. The acting came through well in the fighting, too.

It was all just really good stuff.
