Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Post-release)

OHHHHH I forgot to bring this up if no one else has. But did anyone else note the MAJOR difference (at least to me) in Luke's robe color? It wasn't black, it wasn't the traditional brown and tan of a Jedi. To me it was grey, and I think done that way intentionally for reasons stated above. I think Luke, much like in some of the books, is playing with the light and dark side. Grey Jedi? If you want to label it. Could be why Ben slipped or was manipulated to the dark side. Luke not accepting traditional Jedi ways, embracing his emotional side similar to what we've seen, yet not giving into the dark side. Any thoughts?

I'm fairly sure I've read Rian Johnson has written Ep. 8 solely on his own. He's kept close tabs with JJ and Lawrence Kasdan, but I don't think he's sharing writing credit with anyone else. JJ has reportedly read the script and wishes he was directing it!

I was catching my 11 year old daughter up with the original trilogy before taking her so she would have background. We watched Return 2 days before Awakens. I have to say I'm glad Carrie Fischer was in the movie and I don't think there should have been any other actress playing Leia but.... what a shock. All the original cast has aged but her voice didn't even sound like her and the fact that she did have plastic surgery that seems to now be failing, it was like watching a completely different person. A little unsettling, but on the bright side, lots and lots of Millennium Falcon!!!

Noticed some image flopping going on with Ren. The damage on his mask switches sides.
Maybe the flip was an intentional easter-egg ? A hint to the original trilogy where shots had been flipped here and there. ;)

I noticed that the cloak was grey, but I thought that it was just supposed to look weather-worn.

The cloak he wore in ROTJ also looked grey. It was long believed to have been grey until someone found a picture where you could see that it was brown.

And... the whole thing with Jedi wearing only earth-colours was something invented for the prequels. There is concept art for Episode 1 showing Jedi wearing black like Luke in ROTJ.

So my friend, whom I refuse to watch movies with because he nitpicks to an ABSURD degree, came back from TFA and was complaining because the use of the force was inconsistent. I was like b---h, is this your FIRST Star Wars movie?! Good grief it's like some people don't want joy in their lives or something.

I went with a friend and his 9 year old who loved it . after the movie a lot of my problems with it floated away hearing him go on about the movie letting me see through his eyes and not the old crab I am becoming which let me enjoy it better the next two viewing .

I had a similar experience. I've tried to get my 8yr old daughter into SW, but she only showed kind of a passing interest. After we watched TFA last sunday, she went on and on about it for hours. It made me enjoy it even more seeing it through my daughters eyes.

The reboot is the reboot of interest in Star Wars by people who never saw the originals, or cared about them. I think Disney and JJ planned it this way; to bring in the original audience in and get the newer generations interested as well. They definitely succeeded beyond their wildest dreams!

plus Luke never went to the Jedi academy so he never learned the dress code of the Jedi

Has it been said why the lower guns on the Falcon now come up from the bottom, as opposed to hanging from the top as in ANH?

Did I word that right?

Read a complaint by a supposed fan who stated they hated how the falcon was shown and flown around. Anyone else feel this way, because I for one loved how they showed what the falcon can do. You always hear Han boasting about how awesome the ship is, but only a few times get to see it in action. This was an great treat to see my childhood ship kick a@#.

I think I read on one of the threads here that it says in one of the new books (Cut-away book or Illustrated Dictionary book??) that one of the new 'owners' after the Falcon got stolen did some more modifications,....dont know what they were,...rotating turret?

This is an image from the cut-away book,....notice the position of the ladder?.....it mentions refurbishment here

I'm just glad they figured out why the Prequels failed,.....and made sure the Falcon was back as the main star

We all know Rey gets Luke's lightsaber. I heard somewhere that the box it is in is the same box Obi Wan pulls it out of originally in ANH. Can anyone confirm this?

I can see someone finding the saber on Bespin, but to also get Kenobi's toy box? That's a helluva find.

Speaking of second viewing seeing things, I saw that when the falcon takes off in the second half of the film, the top turret is facing the 3 o'clock position and the lower turret facing the 9 o'clock position
