I'm going to try to. Just not sure at what size. I like the idea of printing metal sides, but not sure if that'll work since shapeways doesn't seem to like the tapered sides. Open to suggestions on method and sizes, though

It would probably be cheaper to print a design and put it on there. This acrylic is see through so a red led/crystal could go in it.

I did real it. But it seemed like a speculation.

Given what we saw on the finale, it was never a question that she survived.

Ashley mentioning that mortis connection certainly adds a spin. But it would make more sense if we only saw the owl, not ashoka as well

And that is mentioned in the article and confirmed. As I said, this is not about her survival, but her "fate" as a character. As in what will become of Ahsoka from here.

She is not saying the owl is Ahsoka, but somehow connected to Mortis (spiritually?). And that Mortis and Ahoka will soon have a future connection.

The real trick is designing a way to make the internal pyramid look as if it is magically suspended and yet still glow.

I've seen the minis in person and they are very nicely detailed.

Note though, the Rebel Blockade Runner is not the same scale as the Falcon. They made a few of the ships like the Blockade Runner and Rebel Transport smaller to better fit the game size. Most of the fighters are 1/270 scale, but the Blockade Runner is more like 1/400 scale and the transport more like 1/500. Not sure if they shrunk the ghost a bit or not

I don't know what the dimensions on the Ghost are but I always thought that it was on the smaller side, about 10% smaller than the Falcon. But then again, we are talking about a ship that has at least 2 decks, a sizeable cargo hold, a few rooms (something the Falcon doesn't seem to have), and a mini ship that docks to it so I guess it could be actually be a little larger than the Falcon.

I was the same way when I first saw them together. However I did the same reasoning you did and came to the conclusion that the scale between the two is most likely correct.

If you want metal then what you need to do is find a metal cutting shop, some place that uses lasers or water jets to cut sheet metal. I'm no expert but there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to do the design in metal, maybe not printing but cutting should be easy enough in just about any metal, if they can makes those metal models then this should be possible. I'm thinking that this could be done in brass myself, it's a cheap enough metal, reasonably strong, and soft enough that you could probably do it at home with consumer grade tools, like a home CNC machine, if you wanted to.

As for suspending the crystal or whatever that's inside, that's simple enough, just use magnets like those floating globe and TARDIS toys. The only trick would be hiding the magnets but that shouldn't be too hard to do.

That's interesting. Hadn't thought about the crystal. The 4 sides of the thing are all the same side. I went through the episode a couple times trying to verify the bottom is the same shape - it is. Which is odd, because what you'd call the top corner is a good deal larger than the 3 at the base level - so, that etching doesn't line up at the base. I say that because you'd have to put magnets on the glass - pretty much dead center of all 4 glass pieces (or maybe just 1) for it to work. So, that part i think i'll leave to the masses.

I'd like it to be affordable and if it get to a metal shop, i'm not sure that's going to happen. The sides would almost certainly have to be CNC'd.

CNC is definitely one way but there's also plasma, laser, and water as well. I have no idea of what the average metal shop charges but I'd shop around a little and see how much they'd want for what material. Like I said, brass would look nice, esp. once you've polished it up, and it's very easy to work with so it might be cheaper than say, steel.

Look up custom metal or brass work or even custom metal signs or art and you'll get listings for a lot of different places. Once you have something to show them, take a look around at their galleries to see who does similar and submit your design for a quote. Small pieces of brass, or even iron or steel, shouldn't cost too much and considering that you'd need 4 pieces for every order it wouldn't take long to reach a minimum order.

All of the images I've seen show it to be four sided (not including the bottom/base).
