Really enjoyed this episode.

like the idea of stealing a carrier for personal reason.

loved the Stormtrooper not hesitating to run to an escape pod.

loved the music.

loved the classic closing shot of our heros.

had to watch this last episode on demand. i had to work late, and honestly i felt like "heh... i dont really have to watch it tonight" because of the pervious let downs. but this episode totally pulled me back in, i really really liked it. i REALLY liked how the Awing was shown docking, really cool with the tunnel hatch and everything.

was it me or was hera's voice changing when she was talking to her father with chopper in the room? i had to do a double take

Yeah it sounded like she got a French accent as soon as she started talking about the rebellion ! Lol

LA resistance ! I guess ?!?

That was some cool trivia, it sounds like a lot of thought went in to this episode, like the references the liberation of Ryloth and the Clone Troopers that fought there. It was also nice to see a familiar design onscreen, I thought that the carrier looked familiar. That's one of the things that I'm really enjoying about Rebels, the expansion of the Imperial fleet showing that their fleet consists of more than just Star Destroyers. It makes me wonder if they're going to eventually show us which ships that Han was referring to in ANH when he said that he outran and they weren't the slow cruisers. Or was he referring to one of the light cruiser designs that we've seen so far, the one that hangs TIEs on the outside and the other that looks more Star Destroyerish. I'd think that a light cruiser would be faster than a heavy cruiser/battleship like a Star Destroyer, but playing World of Warships I know that that's not necessarily the case and the age of the design could be a factor, but generally speaking, the smaller/lighter the ship, the faster it is. Regardless, with the introduction of the carrier, it looks like X-Wing players can expect a new ship down the line, and if the game company plays their cards right, they can get 2 releases out of the mold, one Imperial version and Rebel version.

I doubt it would show up in the X-Wing Miniatures line as it is way too big. All the craft in that game are made to scale with each other. It is one of the reasons I like collecting the ships. Maybe in the Star Wars Armada game line.

I like seeing the rebels having some sort of carrier in their fleet. As man who spent 22 years in Naval Aviation, the idea of Home One launching their fighters from a glorified cargo bay was very... meh. It was one of the reasons why I loved the Republic Attack Cruiser.

You have a point there and I thought about that almost as soon as I was done posting and thought about the Armada game line and let my original statement stand. Now if Disney would allow somebody to create a brand new, updated version of the old X-Wing computer game series, it would be great fun to see all of the various ships from the series to show up and not just Star Destroyers, it would give the game some capital ships that the player would actually have a chance at killing without resorting to cheat mode in order to do it. I bet that you could realistically take down one of those patrol cruisers, the ones that carries a few TIEs on its belly, with an X or Y-Wing and definitely a B-Wing; the light cruisers might be tougher since (I think) they're much larger but possibly still small enough a B-Wing to take on if you had a fighter escort to handle the TIEs.

Speaking of ships, anyone know if there's any trivia behind Hera's father's ship? It looked kind of familiar to me, have we seen the design previously in Rebels or TCW, or, I'm thinking that it might be based on an old Kenner toy design like the troop transports on Lothal were.

It was a Republic Attack Shuttle: http://www.starwars.com/databank/republic-attack-shuttle

Revell makes a 1/120 kit of that shuttle. It is actually a nice kit and it is in scale with the Lamda Shuttle kit as well

Ok I finally got caught up today. My nephew hasn't wanted to watch it when I've been over there for the past like five weekends... (yep watched five episodes) I really liked the last episode. They brought the Quasar Fire carrier back into the new canon (the carrier), they brought the TIE Bomber shuttle back, and Wild Space is canon again as well. That's exactly what I had hoped they would do with the old EU materials. I also liked the call backs to TCW with Numa (little Twilek girl Clonetroopers Waxer and Boil protected in a TCW episode) and Hera's dad.

We also went "what the heck?!" when Hera started talking with a French accent. I forgot that they had Aayla have a French accent so I guess all Twileks do, and Hera reverted when she got angry. That's what I figured anyway.

You (as well as every fan of the show) should check out the episode guides posted at the official site. Not only is Rebel Recon full of info, but also the galleries. Check out the trivia gallery for this episode, it will clarify some of your questions. Just click on the images and there will be bits of cool trivia info: http://www.starwars.com/tv-shows/star-wars-rebels/homecoming-trivia-gallery

I forgot to post that in the episode with the "space whale" things, I really liked how they had Kanan use a Force push to stop his decent. I thought that was a pretty cool idea.

I just switched to Charter and they have the next episode listed at 9:00 - 9:30 pm... is this correct?
