I don't like the fact that they're trying to make stories involving Obi Wan post ROTS. What part of "HIDE!" doesn't he get? Even on a backwater planet, if they're offering rewards or bounties for Jedi then it wouldn't take long for someone who really believes they are now the bad guys, to turn him in.

I like the look of that armored Imperial officer, I wonder if he's just a cannon fodder Imp or if he's going to be one of the main Imperials. Either way, I hope to see of that design because I think I might want to re-create that costume if it's as cool looking as I think it is.

His name is Agent Kallus. He's going to be prominent in the first round of toy releases. I think it is safe to say he is going to be a reoccurring character. I like his look too, he reminds me of General Veer wearing his armor.
He changes the Temple beacon to tell the Jedi to stay away and go into hiding. Presumably that applied to him and Yoda as well.

There are some aspects of Rebels I like. I like the tighter focus on one band of characters. I like the overall look and McQuarrie-esque art direction. I like the era this covers. However, some of these characters are so stupid, I have to wonder how anyone ever thought they were a good idea. And sadly, the characters are a fairly major part of any show! Lol! Hera is the only one I like and I can live with Ezra, though he's essentially Aladdin with purple hair. Zeb I don't have an opinion on. Chopper is just a grumpy R2. Kanan, the cowboy Jedi, is a terrible idea and Sabine, the Mandalorian weapons expert...and graffiti artist..., is too ridiculous to even comment on.
So after a 60 second trailer and a few other little previews you can decifer that the characters are stupid. You must have Jedi abilities. Lol
All jokes aside I have faith in Dave Filoni. Everyone hated on him at the start of Clone Wars and now everyone wants it back it turned out that good.

As a marketing strategy you've got to admire it. They are really going all out to distance themselves from the prequels and move the next generation of SW fans towards the ones their parents loved. Releasing this a year or so out from the new film will really help to build a new audience for it. I suspect part of the big success of The Winter Soldier (apart from it being a great film!!) was the TV link to Agents of Shield.
I've never watched a single episode of "The Clone Wars" and I doubt I will ever watch this, but I bet its a huge success. The animation looks crisp and works well, particularly with the spacecraft and troopers. The characters are designed to be "uncomplicated" because its kid show , and they are not typically interested at complex character motivations.
They are really going to make this franchise work.

There is some more news discussing the link with Rebels to Episode VII. We have heard reports in the past that the events of Rebels will play into the new movie. This seems to support that.
There is also some speculation that is just that, speculation.

Sadly no Jedi abilities! I can infer that just from what they've shown in trailers and character reveals. A Mandalorian graffiti artist?! I mean, really? And as far as I'm concerned, the Jedi should all be dead by this time and yet here we have this ridiculous Kanan character...Hopefully he'll die early on at least. It'll also be terrible if they actually try to shoehorn certain OT characters into this, which apparently is a possibility. I've yet to understand Filoni's appeal with some people.

Okay, maybe I'm thinking of the ROTS novel. I remember one or the other said something about going into hiding.

Maybe not, but it is kind of implied. I think the Jedi would be smart enough to know that if there's a signal going out saying don't under any circumstances return to the Jedi temple, something real bad has happened and it would probably be best to lay low until you know what's going on.
I've never understood how anybody could think this. There must be hundreds of thousands of Jedi around at the time of the purge. It's true that the numbers have never been mentioned in any way, but it's a big galaxy and one would assume that if the Republic has stood in relative peace for 1000 years, then it would also be safe to assume the Jedi would have flourished in that time, so I think that number is sound, and maybe even very low. At any rate, to suggest every last one of them was hunted down and destroyed in less than 20 years is just laughable.
