STAR WARS Rebels new animated series!

Didn't Dave say exactly that? I think it was in a previous Rebels Recon. She changed the saber color.

He made some sort of mention about it right after the finale of season one. He talked about her lightsabers blade color. Although she had not ignited them as of yet, he had released those images of her with the blades active. If I remember correctly, he made some remark that indicated that there was a reason for the blade color but not a detailed explanation.

I don't know what it is, b ut there is something about rebels that just kind of falls/feels.....flat for lack of a better word.

The search for ezra's parents just kind of.....ended. there was no big moment of discovery, no drama. they found an old guy in the desert randomly and then the story stopped.
I dunno. so far disney star wars isn't impressing me too much.

From the Rebel Recon I posted above, I get the sense the Ezra parents story and their fate is not the overall point they were aiming for. It is gateway event that will have a big impact on his future. We are also going to see that guy again in January from the sneak preview.

Speaking of Rebel Recon and the comments, does anyone else think Ahsoka's days are numbered... like the date of the last episode of season 2? :cry

I get that same feeling. I think it's because they've over-simplified the stories for their target audience--"the kids"--so it doesn't even have the shallow depths that The Clone Wars series occasionally achieved. Young children are a lot sharper than most adults give them credit for, and they know they're being talked-down to when stories are dumbed down to this degree.

I remember being 8 years old and loving transformers and gi joe. But then I discovered Robotech. And it blew my mind. I was constantly telling the adults around me that they needed to watch it. It was just so much more sophisticated than anything. Roy fokker died!. And there was a love triangle. And actual character arcs.

Kids can handle it.

I just finished watching the final ashoka arc on the clone wars.

I can boldly say that it's on par with ESB as one of the great star wars moments. Not just for the story, but for the design. The way we were seeing glimpses of the future empire, the arrogant jedi about to be extinct, and the conflict in anakin.

Frankly, the whole padme death thing in rots doesn't really hold a candle to the conflict anakin has here.

I just don't ever see rebels getting that good

it feels like someone in charge is making sure it stays kidified. right down to the alladin like design of ezra.
I'm super shocked they got away with even one lightsaber beheading.

but at least the empire is acting a little more competent now.

I also wish that they were able to ramp up the stories a bit more. The one great thing the clone wars had going was that little newsreel thing at the beginning. It allowed us to start right in the middle of the story. Sometimes Rebels feels like an 80's sitcom where they spend so much time building the episode that there can really ever be only one simplistic arc. The clone wars could get a LOT done in 22 minutes

Multi-episode arcs would also help this.

it's funny.. once the nostalgic feeling wore off from the first few episodes, you realize rebels doesn't really have much...depth... .oomf, or something missing compared to what clone wars was.

I'm having a very different reaction and relationship with this show. I find it charming and fun, I like the focus on a smaller group of people as opposed to the more epic sprawl of the Clone Wars. As such, I think Rebels nails the tone of the OT films better then CW. And I have debated this before but reiterate once again, this is a show aimed at kids. It's a gateway show for a younger audience, so to be critical of it for being exactly what is makes no sense. It's a false premise.

I enjoyed it. The Alice in Wonderland references gave me a chuckle. I thought the idea that Ezra had to let go of his past in order to move forward will be important in his development. I also enjoyed seeing the angry, hurried side he showed in the hanger. Perhaps we'll see more of this as he grows. It will be interesting to see how he deals with his powers as he becomes more confident with them.

I am still enjoying it. I liked it from the start and it keeps getting better. Looking forward to seeing Phoenix Squadron shape up. Really excited for this season's second half.

was legacy a mid season finally? was it longer then a hour? i ask because i missed it and xfinity on demand doesn't have it yet... i know last 2 hour special we didn't get on demand for a very long time. it seems like once a normal episode airs, its available on demand right after its done airing... hmmm

Not really a mid season finale, just last episode till January and it was just 30 mins.

thanks MJF, I don't understand why it's not available on demand yet. I'm so curious about the family thing... though it doesn't look like too many people enjoyed it

I don't hate season 2, but season 2 doesn't have the same feel as season 1 to me. idk why... I was really liking brining back Rex and Ashoka. the episode before with Ashoka fighting was awesome, I liked the whole episode . so far I can say I only enjoyed the wings of flight episode ( the bwing episode) I think because I'm a huge Bwing fan. and we get to see another clear domed R3 unit... and then the last episode with the force sensitive babies and Ashoka fighting at the end

otherwise I haven't really connected..there was so much potential with red wolf and Gregor....
