STAR WARS Rebels new animated series!

Someone so needs to release a toy, or even a decent model, of that TIE.

On the subject of TIEs, is it just me or does anyone else feel that the interiors of the TIEs on Rebels are way too large? From what I remember seeing in the OT they never looked to be all that spacious on the inside, maybe not as cramped as an X-Wing or Snowspeeder, enough room for just a single pilot with a bit room to spare but the ones on Rebels look big enough inside for 3 - 4 people with a bit of room to spare.

Honestly, I could never get the feel for what was going on inside the TIE Fighter. They never gave any scenes that really accounted for the space inside. I think we might be influenced from what we know about the toys we used to play with. the problem is that the ships were undersized to the size of the figure. I took a look at cross sections but the way they are pulled apart, it is hard to say plus, nothing makes those canon anymore.

Upon reading your post, I went and checked the inside of my Efx TIE studio scale model. It's also hard to say as the model is a recreation of filming models and not meant to be detailed interior nor does the figure look like a TIE Pilot as you probable know. From the model, there is a plain black wall with slight room behind the seat but there is plenty of room on the sides. But like I said, it is not meant to be a realistic interior. Frankly, the best references we have to the TIE's interior is Rebels. So if they say there is room inside for a pilot and two to stand around...then I guess the is. :p

The problem is that TIE interior shots were mainly tight on the pilot.

Vader looks like he might have a good deal of room in his TIE.

I'm not sure exactly what's going on in this shot(it looks like stuff is missing) but it gives an idea of a pilot vs the cockpit area.

If this CGI pic is accurate then one or two people could get behind the pilot.

It would make sense to have some space behind the pilot's seat, that way a technician could get in there to work.

You'd think that it would be only logical to design a vehicle in such a way that it would make it easier to work on but engineers don't always seem to think that way. In my experience, engineers design things with little to no thought of maintenance, they just put components wherever they feel it fits best, it doesn't seem to matter much to them that by putting a given part where they did makes it hard to get at and/or gets in the way of another part that needs to be accessed often for basic maintenance.

The great thing about Star Wars is that it is fantasy, not Scifi. That means designers are free to explore items that creates a visual impact and in turn stunning an iconic designs. :)

When I see that TIE I think of that Family Guy SW with the TIE Fighter flying by that was bouncing around with bass thumping. :lol

BTW, I showed my nephew that S2 trailer earlier today and he went nuts when Rex showed up. I think Filoni confirmed one other clone was Commander Wolffe, so it will be interesting to see who the others are and how many, if any, others he has with him.

'Fantasy' is only one element of Star Wars, not the overall reasoning for everything about it. There are battles fought with blasters, and battles fought with magic. Tie-Fighters are clearly vehicles that are portrayed to be technologically practical. They don't have hyperspace capability, the pilots need their own life support unit when piloting them and they can't take much (if any) abuse. There's really nothing 'fantasy' about them.

So any guesses on how they escape Vader? I'm betting that Ahsoka someone distracts Vader, and Kanan and Ezra are able to get away. He will likely pursue Ahsoka himself, and send the two new Inquisitors after Kanan/Ezra?

Well as Vader is FORCING Ezra's lightsaber to Ezra's throat he is also unknowingly pointing the blaster portion of the saber at himself. -pew pew-

That is a great catch. Man I love this show and the thought of the Vader/Ashoka relationship is really something to look forward to. My son can't wait to either. :)

Pretty cool, it looks like it might be a modified design from The Clone Wars, it certainly looks familiar and there are call outs referring to changes from a, presumably earlier out pre-existing design.

It's funny, whoever named it doesn't seem to know the difference between capitol & capital, calling it a capitol ship instead of capital.

Why does everything always have wings that shift in and out of position? Does anything really use lift to fly in Star Wars?

No, but in order to manoeuver properly in flight, maybe the repulsors/antigrav might have to be installed in wingtips, positioned correctly away from the center of mass of a ship. But then, they might be in the way for landing.

(That's just my take on it.)

Obviously it's so the captain can feel all bad*ss and say "Lock s-foils into attack position!" :lol

The thing that bugs me is that the front of the Consular-class cruiser is the bridge on that ship. Like the Corellian engineers were debating how to design the bridge and said "Well, just lop off the front of the Consular-class cruiser and use that as the bridge."

The bridge (well, cockpit in that breakdown picture) is at the front of the ship, a la the Corellian Corvette. The Consular-style bridge and salon pod assembly is called out as the communications tower. Might as well use existing components rather than design all new ones that will need their own parts inventory and mechanic training...
