Star Wars Obi-Wan Kenobi (tv series)

Just keep reminding yourself,....Disney Star Wars is not Canon, if you don't want it to be

Once you do that, you'll be much happier, we all have the Lucas produced stuff in our collection

Same as any other franchise, Superman, Alien, Star Trek, Predator etc

Just because Disney bought it, doesn't mean they know it

If some of the stuff they do is good, thats a bonus, if its crap, disgard it,..... easy

I've got used to the idea that it's just stuff done by folks that don't know the product that they are producing, & that includes Dave Filoni

I’m sorry but when you have a conveyor belt mentality of “endlessly producing content” I’m not sure how you can possibly maintain quality or cohesiveness….

I am only interested in a few. with that much content, the cost of marketing, merchandise, etc, will see if their content pipeline narrows down in the next few years

My only other complaint is that someone making this show thinks all Jedi Padawan wear those training helmets. Those helmets are to cover their eyes for lightsaber training. That's it. Apparently they think it's how all Padawans dress.

To be fair…

Lucas could have done the exact same thing… it’s def in the spirit of Star Wars…

Yoda says luke is too old… so in the prequels George had all Padawans 5 years old.

Obiwan wore desert robes like the jawas and everyone else on that desert planet, so in the prequels the Jedi all dressed like Obiwan…

Great idea for a Jedi hiding from Vader to hang out on his home planet wearing jedi robes…

Tradition!

Like someone said above… it’s not a documentary… it’s a sci fi based in 50’s serials. Y’all gotta let the nitpicking go or ya gonna go nuts.

And true, Obi-Wan *should* have recognized that and been proactive in comforting her. I agree. But I always felt that he was very comforting to Luke after Owen and Beru died. Obi-Wan has never been extremely empathetic, and that's one of the reasons Anakin went to Palaptine to confide his feelings to. It's a character flaw that seems to have always been there.

Ha. This is a great point!

And per the deleted scene. Yes Luke is wanting to join the Imperial Academy, same as Biggs, as a means of getting off world. But as Biggs reminds him. Their plan was to then desert to the Alliance.

Biggs has that line about not waiting for the Empire to draft him into service, that implied to me that whatever Acadamy it was, it wasn't Imperial. Unless he was saying that's what would happen if he stayed on Tattooine.

Speaking of...

Oh that's hilarious! We all know why it failed, but they're just going to keep throwing money at the problem and still wonder why it's not working. Number 1: Too damn expensive. Number 2: Their sense of immersion isn't what Star Wars is all about. An interactive experience should be a battle scenario, not some stupid cruiseline with dinner theater. Problem solved. The fact that they have to pay customers for feedback to figure that out just screams corporatism in the worst sense. A total lack of understanding of their own property.

Alas I don't want to derail the thread any further.

I always considered his application (and Luke's) were to enroll in the Imperial Academy, willingly, rather than get drafted. Then once on board, they would jump ship to join the Alliance. Perhaps the implication is that if drafted they might be sent to a system that's too far away from a meeting point with the Rebellion? That's just a guess on my part, but considering the era in which the film was written, it's clear that the Vietnam War was still an ever looming presence. Thus the idea of getting drafted into military service and deserting duty.

Luke mentions he's been in starfleet to long. And Biggs says their going to jump ship as soon as their frigate leaves. So it suggest he's in a military capacity.
