Of course there might be a theory out there that Obi-wan purposefully put a "bad motivator" in the droid when he got wind of it possibly being pawned off by the Jawas( now that we know he has a Jawa informant...lol) in the hopes that C3PO and R2D2 would find their way there somehow. Obi must have spotted the escape pod from a distance and saw it land. Once he realized it was them, he had to "manipulate" the situation, some would say...lol. I just completely made all that up...lol

Really enjoyed seeing more of the one character that appeared, & I think I may have Reva's endgame figured out.

Her endgame was obvious when the first trailer came out. It's Disney after all. Every recent Marvel and SW "+" series has the same theme: titular character fails and is saved by the girl. In this case she will be the one to save little Luke, not the failure that is Ben Kenobi.

I saw Ewan’s message about Moses’ received racist messages… and it just angers me that Star Wars fandom - over a lot of other franchises (maybe cuz it’s the biggest) - seems to have this rot going through it… bums me out

What I do love about HERE is that while everyone may get into heated arguments over even the smallest details, rarely, if ever goes, does it go down that road - and If it does, is always cut off and run off the threads.

Just dropping in to give props (no pun) to a place that thrives on Star Wars discussion, but doesn’t seem to have that rot…

I think she was the Padawan we see in the opening shots of the first episode. I think she was probably the only survivor of that group, & we'll see Anakin kill the rest. She may be taken in there or at some other point to become an Inquisitor.

I think her plan is to become Grand Inquisitor in order to get closer to Vader. Then she thinks she'll get the revenge she's owed. Could be that her beef with Kenobi is that he let Vader live.

That episode was pretty good. The Mapuzo location didn't do much for me, but the plot and action both nailed it imo.

Honestly I enjoyed it. I’m having fun and I’m really enjoying Ewan. We are seeing some of the ROTS Obi-Wan shine through mixed with an uncertainty that rises from losing a system that you had complete trust in.

Even Reva is getting on my nerves less after I rewatched the first two episodes in preparation for this week’s release.

The big gripe I had this week was the truly terrible

Well they did the one thing I hoped they didnt do. Kills some of the tension in ANH now. I agree it was kinda dumb that Vader let Ben escape when he was right there...and he was already pulling him through fire. He just decided... they got the best of him, let it go??

Still not sure how I feel about the series as a whole (or why we even need it), but I am incredibly glad that they decided to produce a better helmet for Vader (one way closer to A New Hope / Rogue One), rather than use the abomination from Revenge of the Sith.

Just finished watching Kenobi ep3... I think i may need to take a breather before i make some formal comment or adequate response...I will say this...It definitely had a Friday The 13th vibe to it.

Episode 3 is an improvement over Episode 2 for sure. But for some reason I thought some of the scenes which should be more epic and cinematic, felt somewhat cheap... like a fanfilm. Need to rewatch it again.

I'd really hoped that Obi-Wan and Vader wouldn't. fight. And now that I saw how they fought, I REALLY wish they hadn't. I'm starting to think that it's the insistence on using those stupid glowstick prop sabers that's the problem with these fights. You just can't whack 'em like you can a normal stick, because they'll crack and break, and there goes your expensive LED hero prop. So now we're going to be stuck with these stupid low intensity glowstick fights until someone just suggests going back to old fashioned sticks that get CGed over. It's hard for practical effects to be a selling point when the end result of the effect sucks.

I mean, naturally Obi-Wan had to see what became of the boy he raised, to see the twisted wreck of a human being he'd become, but I wish it hadn't been like this.

Yeah in some scenes it was kinda obvious they were using those Force FX hilts. At one point I could have sworn Obi-wan was using a fat necked hilt.

I used to think it was cool that the lightsabers gave off light for these new films, but after what, seven years of this? I think I prefer the look of the rotoscoping. Also, I think they’ve done the blue the wrong color and luminance since TFA. I want it slightly more teal and a little brighter. It’s too true blue.

Edit: and I think the blades are too thick, but they were too thick in AOTC and ROTS as well.

Everyone saw R2-D2 on Alderaan at the reception party scene, along with C-3po, correct?

I’m confused why anyone might be thinking R2 is buried outside Ben’s cave. He’s with the Organa royal family on Alderaan, same as he was at the end of EP3.

Having trouble with the quoting system right now, but HMSwolfe I didn't think they were too think in AotC or RotS, but here, I think the glow is definitely making the blades look a lot fatter than they should be. Then again, for all the complaints of the tooth-pick lightsabers in Rebels, by comparison of Disney-era blades, the OT blades were just that.

CT1138 yeah the quoting’s been wonky all day. The “toothpick blades” of Rebels are actually partially why got me to watch the whole first season, I appreciated that they were trying to hearten back to the OT. I like the thinner blades. Those PT blades look fine there, but those are promotional stills. I remember them being chunky in the movies, particularly ROTS.

janglesworthy I totally agree. For how messy the story is, I think TPM looks the best all around of the prequels. It still looks like they shot on locations and had actors and props. The other two just look dated and oversaturated for the most part, to me at least.
