Star Wars Obi-Wan Kenobi (tv series)

My guess on who will show up in some capacity or another:

Anakin/ Vader, Owen Lars, Beru Lars, Luke, Leia, Bail Organa, Yoda, Qui-Gon Jinn, Darth Maul, Inquisitors, Ashoka, Palpatine, Sith monks, Grand Moff Tarkin, Han, Chewbacca, R2 and 3PO, Jabba the Hutt, Jawas, Tusken Raiders, just to name a few.

You don't want more of THISSSS??????????????

I thought Lumiya's "lightwhip" was handled well. It's not literally a lightsaber in whip form. When you actually look at it, it's a pretty ******* scary scourge.

I’m about to reread Legacy of the Force. She was about the most okay I ever got with the light whip idea, but I can’t get over mental images of people just hurting themselves with it. They would be so implausible to handle, let alone pose such a challenge like the books say they do.

Whips in real life can slice through bone so I can only imagine the type of damage a lightsaber whip would cause.

Right but if it’s a lightsaber whip then it would also melt though the ground or cut your own limbs off of you brush against it. There no way to have a weapon that is long enough to really challenge a lightsaber that wouldn’t also maim the owner.

Just looked up where they've gone with lightwhips since I first knew about them. Not impressed. Lumiya's consisted of several plasma-waveguide wires combined with kyber-crystal-studded lightsaber-resistant strands to make a really nasty cat-o-nine-tails style weapon. More about inflicting pain and damage than straight-up killing or maiming. The later lightwhips used by the Nightsisters and in the High Republic stuff...? Enhhhhhh....... Not feelin' it.

Agreed

I can imagine the amount of skill that would be necessary to wield one effectively without injuring oneself. I do agree that Lumiya's whip was better than the lightsaber variant with flexible plasma blades. They just don't seem practical and a bit silly IMO. Using a lightwhip as a method of torture is indeed a terrifying notion and I would imagine they would work well when fighting from a distance. But try using one in tight quarters with your opponent nearly on top of you or in narrow hallways with low ceilings effectively. Or against large groups of opponents without running out of energy. Not too practical.
