could be, I don't see his thumb wrapping around it, there is a shadow on the inside of the robe that could be read as a saber.

I’m still pretty sure it’s a lightsaber, but the image is so pixilated, it could be Ben’s Star Wars brand electric toothbrush, for all we know…
Granted, but if we can’t over analyze this, then what else are we gonna do until May 25?!
Honestly though, having done PR stuff like this before, there’s a real chance that the person who made this poster wasn’t given many photographic assets, and was just told to make him hold a lightsaber.
Also a fair chance that the person who made this had little to zero knowledge of the lore. Happens all the time in organizations that are this large and corporatized.

At the beginning of the show i had showed one of the art directors a pic of all three of my all real parts obi sabers. He asked me to send him my pics which he forwarded to the prop master and producers. They wanted to see them so i brought them in. The prop master was completely on board. And wanted to rent one. It was looking like it was gonna happen. But after about three months he hit me up and said that the producers wanted to go a different route with the saber even though he strongly disagreed. And that was that. I was so close to having one of my sabers on screen. And i have no idea what "go another route" means so this is going to be a surprise for all of us.

Go another route means they are going to own their props and not rent with potential long term issues of ownership. The TV shows have been hiring fans for background and have sourced items from fans. But a hero item such as this would be owned by production. A similar issue came up with terminator Salvation and endo rifles. New ones were fabricated vs the rent beg and borrow of an original from a private owner.
