Star Wars Obi-Wan Kenobi (tv series)

Maybe Obiwan will wake up, go in the bathroom and Anikan will come out of the shower, pre-Vader?

Nah. It'll end when you see Riker and Troi observing the events from a distance. Riker then says "Computer, end program!", and as everything around them disappear and revert back to the grids of the holodeck, he turns to Troi and says "I think I'm ready to talk to the Captain now".

The Grand Inquisitor is alive? Never saw that coming(rolling my eyes).

Let me splain,....no,..there is too much. Let me sum up.

Crap

Holy crap, a cool twist. Did not see it coming. I love being surprised in stories. I hate when I see it coming. Very cool.

This is looking promising, very interesting,.....

WTF? How was that the plan?????

Really dumb move, but...

Awesome scene. Excellent. Well done. Pretty amazing. One of the few good scenes since 1983

Screw it up and ruin it in the end.

Crap.

That is my review of this episode.
I hope you don't mind me borrowing your review to write mine. Thanks.

I wasn't expecting the show to be awesome (BOBF did a great job a of resetting expectations), but having a single Director drive the season, having McGregor and Christensen reprise, and LFL having...learned...from past mistakes; it made me believe we would see an improvement. Even a tiny one.

McGregor and Christensen showed up, but no one else did.

This is an over-budget, over-privileged, poorly-written/directed/produced/paced amateurish farce.
They can blast those light sabers colors as much as they want, add as many light pops and flares as they want, swell the score as much as they want, but if there's no content behind it; it's just an embarrassing waste of time.

A beloved and culturally significant franchise self-destructing week-by-week, funded by all of us, at a low cost of $8 a month.

How is McGregor, an Executive Producer on this show, allowing this to happen will always be beyond me.

To say that this is crap is insulting to actual crap.

Now my expectations for Andor: in the grave.
If it comes out the way I (now) expect it to; I'll cancel my subscription before the end of the first episode.

I worked in retail for 25yrs...Before The Farce Awakens came out we had marketing posters and displays with Luke Skywalker etc. and i heard more buzz around the wonder of the original cast than anything else and what did we get? 5 seconds of Luke at the End of the movie. Bait and switch.

Now Disney Plus comes out and we get Mandalorian (coincidentally) that's actually good(something new finally, until they had to use Luke Skywalker once again to save the galaxy) in order to hook all the fans in with the hopes that the content might actually continue to be good....bbbrrrrrnnnntttt!!! wrong!!! Bait and switch!
the more you think about it the more it becomes evident.

Use Ewan Macgregor and Hayden Christensen as the dangled carrot, only to use the bait and switch again.

They keep using OT characters to bring in the money with the hook and then use it to promote their agenda.
I'm no better than anyone and admittedly played the fool, hoodwinked, gullible or whatever anyone has to say.

Not anymore. I'm with you. It's just sad that they had such a great start with Mandalorian and they could not resist the temptation to bring in OT characters after the ST already obliterated them. Sad thing is that even if Disney sold Star Wars(never going to) it will always be handled by the Hollywierd elites who always have an agenda instead of just telling a story and they will always find actors and actresses that agree with their narrative and force out any with an opposing viewpoint(Non-PC) just like they did with Gina Carano.

I’ll say it again—this show feels like Kurzman Star Trek. If the rest of Disney Star Wars is, say, Galaxy Quest or The Orville—can be fun, not necessarily going to work for everyone, and is more about the spirit of the thing than getting all too accurate—then Kenobi is Picard.
I can't put my finger on why, but I don't have that reaction. Looking at my similar disdain for nuTrek, "on paper" by all expectations I should feel the same way about nuSW. For some reason I don't. I've had disappointments, though, that's for sure.
My biggest beef with this episode is one of my biggest writing bugaboos (and it happens a lot), is characters being incredibly stupid because the plot needs them to be. Bail knows better than to spill EVERY SINGLE THING they need to keep secret in a holo message. (or any single thing for that matter). And Obi-Wan is stupid for not erasing it or whatever (and putting it in the hands of anyone else, especially a doofus).

I think what you might be saying is you have lower expectations for the writing when it comes to Nu-Star Wars vs. Nu-Trek?

Wow....that was....crap.

I was waiting for Chuck Norris to pop on screen after roundhousing all those troopers because none of the shots were hitting them or vice versa. Yep, the biggest and meanest force in the galaxy can't shoot for s××t!

We get Anakin looking older than he does I'm ROTS and Obi looks around younger than he does in ROTS. Nevermind the youngling storyline - what a load of crud.

It's times like this that I wish I could go back in time, not only to relive the OT years again, but also to stop Lucas from selling to Disney.

The only good things they have done are Rogue One, Mandalorian and maybe Solo. Other than that they are single handedly destroying the amazing legacy many of us grew up with. The sequels were abysmal, and I don't even consider them part of Star Wars - infact they are an embarrassment. Ridley makes me sick, as do her other ST cronies.

Star Wars is just a cash cow now and it is so annoying but one thing they can never deny many of us is the fact we lived through the OT years.

So are we here, then? Is the series officially a “Book of…” series?

stop Lucas from selling to Disney.
this is the most difficult pill to swallow because the same guy who gave us this awesome Star Wars universe is responsible for its undoing, ultimately...and I know he was promised things by Kathleen Kennedy etc. And got hoodwinked and probably thought they would respect the integrity of it, when you SELL its no longer yours and you have to accept that and take responsibility for it. We may wish he hadn't but I didn't even like the PT so I wished he never did that to begin with. The OT is it for me...period. If they do something completely new without any of the Legacy characters I will give it a fair shake but until then, I'm out
