Limited Run Star Wars Han Solo Episode VII Leather Jacket (2025 $150 run)

I'm very excited to announce that all the issues have been corrected and I have the very first perfect prototype. I dropped it with the photographer right now to make sure you'll see in high quality pictures everything I fixed but right now let me address directly the issues that we solved:

Sleeves are now divided in four parts with the rectangular piece over the elbow.
Stitching is on the right shoulder.
Slightly bigger greeblies pocket.
Rectangles on the flaps.

That plus a few more inaccuracies I found, more small details than anything. That being said, I couldn't find magnets small enough but with a hold so strong that it had held strongly through several layers of lining and leather. They can close the jacket but it will open easily. Fortunately, Han Solo never closed his jacket (in fact I have not found any information on whether or not the movie used jacket was even able to close at all) so I hope that's not an issue.

Also after a lot of time spent looking for it I'm happy to let you guys know that I found the screen accurate 100% cotton lining. It's more expensive but I'll have an option to include that if wanted.

The leather we're using is already top quality (as anyone who has received one can confirm), I actually spent a full month with leather makers directly checking tones and finishes to get the exact brown-shades-to-black tone. The leather used for these jackets is designed by me personally and exclusively for this run, since the original movie tone did not exist as such.

I'll have pics in a couple of days, this has definitely been a more challenging run but once you receive your jacket, see the screen accurate high quality leather with perfect stitching and feel just how comfortable and good it looks, you'll definitely know that the time spent on it was worth it.

Great to hear you're on top of things Danny, but just to be clear (assuming you wrote a typo) stitching should be on the LEFT shoulder!

Also, not to nit-pick but what about the cuff stitching (it should not be visible, but glued or stitched on the inside) and pattern where the yoke meets the collar?

If the latter two can't be fixed, please just let us know either way just for clarity.

To reiterate, it's great that you're stepping in and getting this sorted. Thanks for that.

You really wanna spoil all the surprises with the pics uh? Just kidding, fixed, fixed and fixed ;)

PM'd you Danny. Thanks!

EDIT:

Disregard the PM, I just received mine! While it is beautiful, I have the same concerns as the others. Now that you have these issues sorted out, will I be able to exchange this for the more accurate version? Please advise. Thanks!

Excellent news, Danny. As I PM'd you the other day, my original jacket is on its way back to you.
Looking forward to seeing/receiving the new one!

Yes, if you're not satisfied you can send it back and I'll exchange it for you.

Thanks Danny you went above and beyond on this one! Any thoughts to the additional cost for the cotton lining?

Can't wait for the new pics. If you've ironed everything out like you say I'll be adding my name to the list.

New pics of the final jacket are up on the first post! This jacket is definitely one of my most accurate jackets yet, and all thanks to you guys! Let me know what you think!

Looks really great!

It's hard to tell from that pic, but are the seams on the sleeves the way that Joatrash FX described in post #204?

The front of the sleeve should have a vertical seam that goes from the shoulder to the cuff. There should NOT be a horizontal seam on the front of the sleeve. Only on the back of the sleeve should have the vertical split. (I believe there are actually two, one under the elbow and another above it.) . . . .

I see the following promised fixes still missing: The collar/yoke still needs tweaking- it's better than before, but the storm flap should align with the yoke. The center front vertical sleeve seam still isn't there. The newly added hemline seam should not be where it is, but 3-4mm from the edge OR left out completely and the hem glued.

To my eyes, the magnets and pockets are now looking great.

I also recently found a couple really high-res photos that identified an additional arm seam. It splits the inner front sleeve panel in two and meets up with the upper horizontal seam (the one above the elbow) on the sleeve back, giving the screen-used sleeve a total of six panels. The back panel seams could also use some tweaking but perhaps it's unfair to demand these changes as well since he seems to be really trying to accommodate those of use who are picky on the fine details.

This has the potential to be one of the most accurately replicated jackets ever done on the RPF.

Like Red Leader said... "Almost... there..."

I think you've done a marvelous job so far. Based on your new pics I have a concern regarding the front shoulder panel which might be a problem for how it lays on most people. It seems to have become more of a rectangle instead of the trapezoid shape that should mimic the clavicle area of the front shoulder. This seems too be causing the big curve up of the chest in the center instead of it being level on your mannequin. If you are still working on the collar attachment correction you might want to double check this again.View attachment Han shoulder.jpgh5.jpgshoulder.jpg

Received my jacket in record time yesterday (I was away, so my wife took delivery of it for me).

Although there was a bit of a wait, Danny has done an incredible job. The jacket is stunning. You guys will not be disappointed, and those deciding to order one, I say go for it!

Thank you Danny for all of your hard work, and for racing this to me.
