Limited Run Star Wars Han Solo Episode VII Leather Jacket (2025 $150 run)

That looks a lot better than before Danny! It appears your guy nailed the correct stitching in the seams and the arm seam looks great as well. That leather is only going to need some light sanding to look screen used.

However, not to be a downer but you did write that it was 100% accurate but it's not quite there yet.

  • The screen used jacket does not have a seam along the bottom of the cuff, where it turns up. (It's probably glued down in the fold, before it attached to the lining.)
  • The front of the collar is wrong where the yoke, collar and flap connect. The front flap should not have a diagonal cut. The shoulder yoke seam meets the front flap directly and the collar takes a sharp turn to follow the sharp curve of the neck opening.

I brought that up earlier but it seems to have slipped by. It sure has come a long way since he 1st showed it.

I had a question regarding the sleeves. I can't find any good pics but from a couple it appears that the outer piece is one continuos from shoulder to cuff but the inner is in 2 sections. The pic above of the final looks like the entire sleeve is in 2 sections. Anyone know or have a good pic of that? I'm curious as to what I'm seeing.

I know the stitching on the shoulder is supposed to be there but it seems so distracting. It's much more subdued on the film jacket to the point I never would have known it ws there except that someone posted that huge pic of it.

It sure is a nice jacket you've made. Don;t get me wrong. This design is a beast.

Hmm. Is it just me or do the seams look very different? Particularly noticeable around the neck where the collar meets the main jacket.

Awesome news! Will shirts be ready in week and a half too?

Yes, they will be shipped with the jackets!

Thank you! The design of the sleeve is in three pieces, it's almost like a square on the elbow and that's how we made our jacket.

The front of the sleeve should have a vertical seam that goes from the shoulder to the cuff. There should NOT be a horizontal seam on the front of the sleeve. Only on the back of the sleeve should have the vertical split. (I believe there are actually two, one under the elbow and another above it.)

Please understand, I'm not bashing or anything. I understand the desire to get these out the door asap. (I desperately want mine too since the temperature just hit 20 Celsius here and I'm about to finally get going on the run of aluminum jacket greeblies for it!) The jacket looks great so far and you've done fantastic work on it, but if the aim (and claim) is 100% accuracy, these things do need addressing. This IS THE RPF after all, where people chase paint droplets on stormtrooper buckets. The collar/yoke pattern is the most glaring error and the arm seams are easy fixes.

not going to lie, I am disappointed by this detail as well, it is something i mentioned a while back, disappointed it wasn't changed.

It's so close, like 95% there. I so want to see it knocked out of the park. Some of these things should be fairly easy fixes. I do patterning with the wife on all of her costumes. The collar and sleeve issue are pretty minor pattern changes. I think Danny is like me though and we both spread ourselves a bit thin. That's when the little things start slipping by. I learned my lesson a long time ago. In my line of work you don't get the next job if you are ok with turning in "good enough". You gotta push it further for that "WOW" factor. It's all in the details.

Really happy to see the new changes! With all the great input from everyone, this should wind up
being a fantastically accurate jacket. :thumbsup

Hi just a couple things I noticed.

Not criticism, just some details...

• The storm flap is set a little low, it should be a horizontal line continuing from where the chest detail line is.
• The angle where the collar hits the storm flap is a little too shallow, it should be pretty much 90°.
• The corner point of the collar is too sharp, it should be rounded off.
• The collar is actually slightly shallower towards the front, not sure if this is replicated.
• A small point the shoulder may fall off the shoulder a bit, it seems to be vertical on the original.
• The bottom of the storm flap should have a 45° cut across.
• The left storm flap ends a little low, it's probably 2" from the bottom of the jacket on the original.

Danny,
I might be interested in this jacket. How long will you have the Run open for? Looks great!

Considering none of the first run jackets have shipped, and the design is not 100% final (AFAIK), I wouldn't get too much ahead of myself for questions on the second and later runs...

Hello. I'm interested in a jacket, is the run still open?
I'll sign you up for the second run!

WOOHOO!!! Any pics of the final product, while we try not to pester the UPS guy? (I know last jacket you shipped me, just a week or so ago, took just under a week to arrive in L.A., so that gives me a rough timeline at least!)

I had an address change, Danny, I sent you a PM - just wanted to confirm. Looking forward to getting this jacket!
