Star Wars Episode VII Stormtrooper Pics

Like it a lot, especially love the bridge over the nose section, if it was removed, it would look a lot like a conventional motor cycle helmet. I imagine there would be much better visability for the stunt actors looking out through one of these, and the small and slight Ralph mcquarrie tribute on the ear area is a lovely way of saying thank you to him

They're definitely not as menacing as original TKs, but if the SW future is, as ours is, becoming increasingly technocratic and impersonal, than a more robotic looking trooper is an obvious next step in dehumanizing the face of the troops. Even if it does look like Eve from Wall-E :p

Learn to love it people, 'cause it's gonna be in...let's see...oh yeah 2 other movies!! Like the new design (if it's the new design) a lot:) I hope the rest of the suit is rockin' as well.

I really hope they stick with this design and not copy the PT with multiple phases. Just one and you can always attach additional divisions to them but leave the main stormies with these.

I also hope we don't get all the war paint and little skirts and pauldrons everywhere. I love the plain white clones, but all the variations got really, really silly looking. Sandtrooper pauldrons = great. Snowtrooper dress = great. Clone troopers wearing everything in mommy's hope chest like kids playing dress up = super friggin' lame.

It's a small detail, but it clearly links back to the McQuarrie concept Stormtrooper designs. A Tribute to Ralph McQuarrie?

A stormtrooper named Robot teams up with a retired cat burglar named Frank to pull a series of heists...

I kid, I kid...I DO like the new design.

I'm getting the feeling the large black area for the eyes may be populated with LED lights. This could help make them look more menacing. I could see them going with some illuminated red eyes or something. Just brain-storm-ing. :)

Overall, I like it. It could use a few more protrusions or 'something', but overall I like it. It will REALLY depend on the armor that goes with it.

It would be great to see what the helmet displays inside,
kind of like the pov we saw from luke via his bincoculars when looking for r2 in Episode Four

Maybe Boyega will do something similar in Ep 7 ;)

It's fair to suggest all designs shown thus far are strongly tied to Ralph Mcquarries original concept art, and alhough desperately trying to keep expectations in check, I for one get that little more excited with every reveal.

I love this design for the stormtrooper, but I don't know if I could see a similar design for a TIE pilot. I enjoyed the hoses and kind of crude looking TIE helmet, it's what made them unique and really cool IMO. The differently shaped empire helmets and uniforms were my favorite part of the original trilogy. I don't know how I feel about the new snowtrooper helmet or jungletrooper helmet or whatever it's supposed to be.

It is going to be epic.

The TIE Fighter Pilot was always my favorite from the OT, I am anxiously awaiting the new pilot look for this film as well.

I hate it. It looks like it could be from just about any sci-fi production that required a faceless law enforcement officer.

:thumbsdown

I tried to bring up a bit of detail...

I really don't know what to think, my gut reaction was that its too much of a jump.
This is what i would have expected if there was a reboot and the first thing i have seen from Abrams that I haven't been totally onboard with.

I believe that they have purposefully distanced themselves from any elements that could be construed as "Ainsworth" influenced just in case.
