Star Wars Costumes Book Contest - Enter for a Chance to Win!

I didn't hesitate to make my choice.

It's the Luke ANH Tatooine costume. The way everyone from us saw Luke for the first time. The way he looked when he started his long way to become a Jedi. The way he looked when he held his father's lightsaber for the first time and everyone from us thought: "Wow what's that? What a awesome weapon."

uploadfromtaptalk1412776541018.jpg There has always been something about Leia's Ewok Village outfit that I have loved. It is so primitive yet whimsical, and honestly, how often do the Ewoks have human visitors that they would have clothes just laying around for Leia to wear?

momImperialTIEFighterPilot.jpgI always loved the TIE fighter pilots. It seems like just a slight variation of the Stormtrooper, but as was always the case with the designs of the original trilogy, a lot of thought was put into how these would actually function. The all black look is totally cool, especially when paired with the almost all white of the basic Stormtrooper. I also dug how short they looked, which would make sense since they had to be in that cramped cockpit.

ESB Vader, all the way (SL-32407 here). My favorite SW film and although I saw them all in the theater when they were first released, Empire made the biggest impression on me. Vader in particular.

I've always been partial to the Snow Troopers from ESB, I've always thought that they were the coolest looking Storm Trooper variant from TOS.

Sandtrooper (or "Stormtroopers on Tatooine") costume from ANH. The added shoulder pad and the heavy weapons made them even more threatening, hence it's my pick for favourite.

My favorite has to be Han Solo's attire. It had a casual, rugged look to it, but also hinted at a sense of order or personal moral code.

My absolute favorite costume is that of the Stormtrooper. Ever since I saw Star Wars back in 1979 as a kid I said to my mother I wanted to have that costume.

img-thing.jpgLeia's outfit from Bespin is my favorite costume from the original trilogy. I think it intrigues me because it is unusual- it's a mix of formal and casual, of traditionally feminine and masculine styles. I always thought it suited her.

I have a hard time picking just one, but I'll go with this, because it's the one I've recreated the most times before I was (mostly) satisfied. ;)

The ceremonial dress that Leia wears at the end of ANH. It is so similar and yet very different from her senatorial gown. It's elegant and simple and shows a different side to Leia than what we saw the rest of the movie. And it's a silent reminder that a girl can be pretty and dressed up in something beautiful and still grab a blaster and kick ass. She was my hero growing up. :)

Someday I'll get to her beautiful Cloud City robes, too, but for now I'll be happy to finish her Ewok Village outfit. And then I'll have all my favorites.

Han Solo's costume from ESB because he looks like a badass Space Cowboy.

My first costume in the venerated 501st Legion and quite possibly, still my favorite to wear when guarding Vader or the Emperor. The Royal Guard in Return of the Jedi was the sovereign protector personified. Beautiful red robes, lethally simple weapon and a helmet that defied visual lines. Love the costume to this day!

Mine is a tie, I simply can't choose between them. My two favorite are Bespin Leia and Hoth Leia.

hoth4.jpg Hoth Leia because it's my favorite hairstyle of hers, and the costume is a combination of practical, comfortable, regal, and feminine.

dress.jpg Bespin because, as a seamstress I am instantly drawn to the thing with the most amount of flowy fabric and insane embroidered detail. This is also the most colorful of her outfits.
