i just feel so much has been left out, this is a lazy-man's version of a release. ARGH
making-ofs with model shots that arent in the movie.
big-time missing "the begining", aotc digital yoda, and rots scene breakdown
empire of dreams

Anybody know if they are forced 16:9 like the Spike broadcast are done?

You would think no, but the BTTF Blu-rays are 16:9.

Boy if you want hearty content, consult with Peter Jackson. I admire what that guy did for the fans producing an absolutely insane amount of bonus content to the LOTR trilogy.

I am very much looking forward though to finally seeing these Star Wars deleted scenes. We've all been waiting a very very long time.

I frankly think the best thing Lucas could have done, other than release the 77-83 versions, would be to have edited TPM and AOTC. They both drag badly in the first half, and a few minutes of cuts here and there would really improve the pace. I mean, he muddled with the OT, why not tweak the PT? Oh yeah, his ego is bigger than his neck.

No, they're at the proper 2.35:1. BTTF was also accurate on Blu, as they were not shot that wide.

Then why was there such a flap when the first BTTF DVDs gt screwed up?

I can't believe we are still going on about letterboxing.

It just goes to show how lazy they are over there. Someone needs to go beat them with a red FX saber yelling "What color is this?!"

Nah, I wish that worked. How do you think this happened?

*bang* *thunk*

"What color is this? Tell ME!"

"Whatever color you want it to be Mr. Lucas! Whatever color you want!"

It wasn't about the aspect ratio, it was about misframing the shots so we couldn't actually see things anymore.

Man, I can't for my life figure out why this release are getting so much flack!? Seems awesome to me! Just the 360 turnarounds of props and models are enough reason for me to spend the cash! Also, there's been a lot rant here that it is the 2004 dvd masters thats been released. Not true! Early screenings have proven that a lot of the 2004 release issues are fixed, audio, lightsaber colors and so on! Check out the thread in the studio scale forum for more cool info! I'm all over this, except for the box art doodle. :(

Steve

Why would a thread in the studio scale forum have that info? Anyway, that'd be nice if they fixed the f-ups from the 2004 version. Those really were pretty inexcusable. But I think that the main reason people crap on this version is that it doesn't include an archival version of the OT. Well, that and crappy key art.

Some of the extra features seems to be of great value to members interested in building accurate ss models, thats why. http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=124783

Yeah, the original versions are not included, did anybody really expect that? Besides, a great deal of the discussion here's been how losy it is of Lucas to put out a rushed release of the 2004 edition. Doesn't seem a bit rushed to me.
