Star Trek TOS Desktop Viewer Build

Just a small update, I was at the cottage on the weekend and got back yesterday. I should finish up the plans for the desk top today.

I got the plans for the desktop computer done. It was actually a lot of work, from figuring out to build for the one I built. Then making it into a set of plans that fits the custom monitor I have. So do you think it would be ok to charge say $10 for the set.

Let me know, if you want the plans just PM me and we can arrange.

Here is an example of one of the sheets from the plans.

If you are interested in the rest of the kit which includes the following,

Custom touch screen monitor with speakers,
1 Data disk, and the 3D model to make more,
The slot with the USB connector to make the data disk work
The Plans and the sketchup or 3DS files

Let me know

Thanks

Are these still available?

I finally got around to finishing up the main body build of this project and thought I would share some pics...

This was a great kit I picked up from REL57 over at the TPZ.

The main body of the build is wood (like the originals) with the monitor mounted to a base via a lazy Susan which allows it to rotate freely.

A lot of time was spent puttying, sanding, priming (multiple layers), wet sanding etc. to get this right.

The milk-plex screen is held on by magnets to allow access to the interior of the screen area. The switches are functional but I have not yet added any electronics (which will be a simple bulb akin to the originals).

This was a very well-designed kit and a lot of fun building up!

Do you know if the kits are still available?

I'm curious about a detail (for decades now).... Just below the 'frame' on the monitor, there is something that appears to be a ID plaque?

What is that thing?
