Star Trek Science Uniform TOS - First Post

Comic Con is coming next weekend. Been busy sewing up my TOS blue sciences uniform.


Cotton/Spandex blend with a sweater used for the collar. Accurate insignia. Will add braids in the next few days.

That's not bad at all. You should have seen my first attempt at a Trek TOS shirt. It was a tailored oversized sweatshirt dyed gold for command (later realized it was the wrong color) with a sweater collar.

But then, that was 20 years ago.

Unless he's going for the rank of Crewman, they had no rank braid in TOS IIRC.

Could you explain that, since right above your post is a pic of Nimoy's Spock with two very distinctive lines of braid on the sleeves? Or this a syntax issue?

Good color, at least in the pics.

The blue is almost as tough as that stupid pukegreen/gold thing.

Spock has 2 braids denoting the rank of commander. No braids at all would be either an enlisted crewman or ensign.

Excellent job! The only criticism I have would be to sharpen up the bottom of the tunic. Perhaps just ironing it would do.

Look at Chekovs sleeve no braid there.
