Star Trek Picard Season Three

Another fantastic episode. I totally did not see that character coming. The heartfelt conversation between that character and Picard represent some of the best writing and performances in this show.

And I loved this scene! Stashwick is a Trek legend in progress.

Absolutely agree—Captain Shaw is the first Nu-Trek character that I actually want to see more of.

Awesome character.

Like the elusive Bigfoot, I have yet to encounter such a fan in the wild…
Nice to meet you, my name is Thaddeus

I like the low-key lighting. It’s very cinematic, and I’ve been used to it in Trek since TMP, which was very low-key. This other director (whose name escapes me right now) also went for a looser, more cinematic style than Frakes did. I just loved everything about it.

Episode 7. Angry at Mr Mot for taking off too much of Worf's beard many years ago, Worf kills Mr Mot with the same scissors that triggered Worf in "Schisms". Got to love those nostalgia easter eggs.

You joke, but this is the sort of thing I've come to expect from modern-day's counterfeit sequels. Writing from the inside-out, and focusing on minor characters and details without it making any logical sense.

For example, the return of Anakin/Luke's lightsaber in the Disney Trilogy. An item which has great nostalgia value for US, the audience, but which actually isn't important, in-universe, and should never have been seen again.

And so shall it be with THE WRATH OF MOT.

Levar Burton let slip months ago that they filmed scenes
on the bridge of the Enterprise D.

This absolutely explains why the insiders who have watched the entire season are glowing with praise.

Pure. Memba. Berries.

As an outsider who simply no longer cares, and won't subscribe to Paramount +, this all sounds like fanfic. Maybe even good fanfic, at times, but the little I've seen and heard makes me feel like this is not at the level of proper TREK.

Lots and lots of Stockholm Syndrome, I think. Battered spouses believing the whole, "I've changed, baby!" bit.

To each their own.
